The property location is super! That's the only "Super" thing about this motel. The "8" in Super 8 Motel comes from the brand's original room rate of $8.88 per night when it first opened in 1974. The Norwich Super 8 Motel opened in 1990 and had renovations in 2004. Unfortunately, nothing has been upgraded since, so there was only one outlet I

The staff was very helpful . Our GPS stopped working and a staff member went on her computer to print out mapquest directions for us . On the negative side, the TV screen was blown so TV did NOT work . I reported this to staff at check in . We were not planning on watching TV so that was not a big deal . There was a used towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door , so the cleaning staff missed that one . Other than that , we were satisfied with our stay .

Close to where we needed to be. Bathroom outdated, no counter for toiletries, no grab bar in shower, bathtub very slippery, almost fell. A/C was noisy. No nightstand on one side of the bed, had to ask for a second chair. Room was clean, bathroom was clean. No problems with cleanliness. The floors were awful…. Parts of them are peeling up, they are damaged etc. not easy to negotiate at night.

Upon arriving, we were greeted with strong fumes of marijuana. The receptionist took a long time staring at the computer before releasing our room keys. The mattresses were stained and in bad shape. There were fruit flies all throughout our room. The room itself smelled like mildew. Mouse droppings found behind toilet. Price was reasonable, but would definitely not stay here again with my family.

The hotel staff are very nice, but the hotel is worn and needs some attention. Our door key pad wouldn’t work, although the intrepid clerk finally got it going after 30 minutes. The air handling system only worked on cool and only when set to 64 or lower (not ideal when it was 50 outside). The tub drain was determined to stay closed no matter the position of the handle; the housekeeper somehow got it to stay open. And “breakfast” consisted of little fruit cups and some granola bars. The room was clean, the towels and sheets fresh, and the bed reasonably comfortable. We travel to a lot of smaller towns for blues festivals, so our expectations are realistic. The hotel is well located near to the center of Norwich, but for the price it fell short of what we had hoped.
