John was an excellent host, he took care of us made us feel right at home! Went out of his way to show us around, provided transport to and from the airport took us for food as well. He was kind and respectful and the place looked amazing it was a great barbados experience! Would definitely stay here again!

Set on a quiet neighborhood, very safe and homely. 15mins walk to the beach, located on a hill and enjoyed the walks to the Oistins bay gardens and beach. Close to groceries and food options 😋

Wonderful time in Barbados

Jo was an excellent host. If you want to get along with him, you have to respect him and follow his house rules. He takes good care of his property, and he helped me a lot with tips to tours around the island. He is a good host and an excellent guide. The van nr.10, just behind Jo's house, will take you to Bridgetown in 15 min. A short walk down Gall Hill, and you are at Miami beach, a dreamy beach in Oistens. Don't expect luxury, but Jo's hostel has the perfect location in town. Jo, thanks for everything.

The man at the hostel (JO J's Hostel) began with interrogation. There are clear differences between necessary questions (tourism and hospitality) and interrogation--there may or may not be an international investigation. The place was old and outdated. The room was extremely small and barely enough room to turn around. There was a shared bathroom down the hall. I intially booked my reservation for a 7 day stay; however due to the poor condition of the Hostel, I refused to stay there. I requested a cancellation and a refund, which Jo J's Hostel denied. It was a complete ripoff, they kept my money and I had to book somewhere else to stay!! This was the worst experience, I ever had, do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.

Excellent place to enjoy island life

I spent 7 days here at Jo Js. Facility has everything you need, clean, comfortable, and located in quiet Bajan neighborhood. Within easy walking distance of beach, Oistins, and buses that will take you anywhere on the island. Host John is an interesting man, well travelled and possess local knowledge for anything you could possibly want to do in Barbados. I would stay here again when I come back

I think the amount is too much for a room you have to share with 2 others in that location and also share bathroom with other rooms. The air conditioning is not working too. Not at all convenient.

Firstly, that property is not in Oistins, it is in a community call Gall Hill, which locally is considered the projects/ghetto, hence not the safest place. Secondly, it was very clear that I was not expected as there was no one to greet me - the property manager was nowhere to be found. Thirdly, the place was unkempt with overgrown, poorly maintained shrubbery and just general untidiness. These pictures must have been from years ago as the property looks nothing like the pictures. This is the epitome of misleading and false advertising. I was out of there in a flash, and ended up having to pay $140 BBD in taxi fare alone trying to find alternate accommodation. I also had to pay another hotel $137usd for a last minute booking. The property is truly worth the price and even less. Would definitely not recommend!!

Easy going respectful owner, John! I felt at home; very welcoming with warmth of a complete balance, and harmony location. I believe this home offer to the cool folks who are open minded, friendly, respectful and loving. I liked that it was cleaned and the internet connection was great at all times. Also, what I liked Jo J's has reasonable rates for everyone even those pocket watchers. It's a safe and peaceful neighborhood for all. I enjoyed my stayed and met wonderful travelers and friendly locals. Viva Barbados en Jo J's Hostel!
