We recently stayed at Ashore Resort & Beach Club and had a mixed experience. The property itself is lovely—new, clean, and right on the beach. Having direct beach access with complimentary umbrellas and chairs was a really nice touch. We also enjoyed tasty drinks at the bar with a great view, and the servers were friendly and welcoming.
However, I’m giving this place 3 stars because the service didn’t match the $300+ per night price tag. First, the room didn’t come with a microwave. When I called to ask, they brought one up—but literally just placed it on a chair in the room and left. It felt awkward and not what you’d expect from a resort-level hotel.
The most frustrating part: our room was never cleaned during our 2-night stay. I saw the housekeeping staff working, but they were clearly focused on rooms where guests had already checked out. I honestly started to wonder if they even offer housekeeping for guests currently staying—which is not okay. When we brought it up at the front desk in the afternoon, a blonde woman who seemed like the manager just said the cleaning crew had already left. No apology, no solution—nothing.
It’s a stylish hotel in a great location, but the lack of basic service and follow-up really took away from the experience. For a place calling itself a “resort beach club,” I expected much better.
