Nice hotel

I very much enjoyed my stay with morning star. Very clean and quiet surroundings. Staffs were very kind and helpful. Hotel will book the e-bike for you and the staff from e-bike shop is also very kind. Many young tourist chose to stay in NyangU but new bagan is more local and quiet.

Great location

I really liked the location of Morning Star. So close to the temples, good restaurants, and a feeling of village/local life when walking around. My room was great and the breakfast was fantastic! The staff were really friendly and helpful. I loved exploring on their E Bikes, which were always fully charged and totally reliable. I’d definitely stay there again!

Un séjour comme à la maison

C’est agréable d’être dans une petite structure qui est tenue pas un écossais qui travaille avec tout le quartier. Bagan se visite en e bike et l’hôtel en loue. Ils nous ont conseillé des bonnes adresses de restaurants et massages. Ce Guest house est récent et les gens au petits soins pour nous. les lessives sont vite faites! C’est bien d’être éloigné des grosses structures hôtelières et touristiques.

Très bien le prix

nous sommes restés 5 nuits au Morning Star. L’endroit est agréable au centre de New Bagan. Il y a une terrasse sur le toit pour le petit déjeuner. Les chambres sont confortables,ainsi que la literie. Selon moi, un bon rapport qualité prix.

Excellent place

One of the best guest house (or hotel) i have found in mu trip. Four cities visited and the best was here. Very nice room, excellent staff, restaurants near the hotel, you can rent an e- bike for a very good price... And a calm place. No hesitation for a reservation.

Foi muito bom, bem situado, atendentes amigáveis e solícitos. O inglês não é 100%, contudo, o proprietário, um Sr. australiano muito boa gente resolvia tudo que a equipe não conseguia (o que era raro de acontecer). O lugar em si é muito bom, cama boa, local espaçoso, banheiro também ok. Limpeza excelente. Alugam motos elétricas no próprio local. Café da manhã excelente! Ficaria fácil por mais dias.

This not really a GuestHouse But rather and upscale Hotel for Myanmar standard. The Hotel is a modern building in and out with a 12 rooms in Teo floors. It have a nice reception desk with seating area, parking lot, on premises E. motorbikes for rental and they also offer tour reservations. On the third floor they have a terrace with few tables were breakfast is served (included) They have eggs, bacon or sausages, rice and vegetables with chicken or other type of meat. Coffee, tea, toast, butter, jelly, cheese and sweets. All fresh and very tasty. The rooms very modern with quality furnisher, good A.C. WiFi and TV snd a little table with couples of chairs. The location is in a quiet area. close to a convenience store and about 3 blocks from the Main Street. The staff was the best part. Very nice and polite, always smiling and ready to help with any questions or requests. After travelling in Vietnam, Laos and Mandalay I was surprise to find so a modern Hotel with so much comfort. My room was reserved for 5 nights but the first day I decided to stay in my room as I was not feeling well. In the afternoon John, the owner, call me to ask me if everything was Okay with me as he has not see me all day. I explain that I was not feeling well and 5 minutes his wife knock on my door with some medication. What a nice people!! They not only know what hospitality is all about but they really care for their guests. Highly recommended and my thanks to you and your wife John!

Nice place, but error by Hotels.com

This was a very nice place, BUT the Hotels.com website is wrong. It is not in Nyaung-U, but in New Bagan, which is 7-8 miles away from each other. This mistake by Hotels.com cost me 1/2 day of my time in Bagan in switching hotels to the correct town, taxi fare in changing hotels, and I was unable to cancel one of the nights at this hotel bc it was too late before I realized hotels,com had incorrect information on its website. I don't have phone access here in Myanmar, but did message hotel.com at the number on its app, but have yet to hear from Hotels.com. I have booked 100+ rooms on Hotels.com over the years, and am seriously disappointed in their error and lack of responsiveness on this issue. Still waiting to hear from them, hopefully via email.

Just like many other travellers, I arrived in Bagan on an overnight bus from Yangon. We reached Bagan Bus Station at about 5am. We arrived at the guesthouse at around 545am and was able to check in early as there was no one using our room the night before. Really appreciate the kindness of the owner for allowing us to check in early! We were even offered breakfast! The room is very value for money for the amount that we had paid for. The shower was warm, clean towels and linen was provider! The staff were also very helpful! They helped us to book a grabthronebane to see the morning sunrise and also helped us order a pizza delivery! The guest house has a mini bar at the reception that stocks up on water, soda and beer! So you would not need to worry about not having drinks for the night! One could also rent an e-bike from the guesthouse. It is 5,000 kyat for a full day rental and 3,000 kyat for a half day rental. Do note that once the battery indicator shows that it is 4/6 full, the battery depletes really quickly and the speed would also decrease. However, the hostel charges the e-bikes the night before and hence the e-bike should be able to last you for about 10 hours! Really enjoyed my stay here!! Thank you for the great hospitality!!

Хорошее месторасположение, рядом кафе, ресторанчики. До пагод и ступ Багана километра 3-4. В отеле можно арендовать ebike недорого и ездить всюду. Единственное, завтраки не очень. В остальном все ок, уборка, чистота, желание помочь со стороны персонала. Прибыл часов в 7 утра, заселили, накормили завтраком, не пришлось ждать 14.00.

We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed it a lot!! Breakfastbuffet is very good, every room is spacious and has a balcony. The guys at the reception were very helpful to give tipps for sunrise, as most Pagodas were closed for climbing (February 2019). The hotel is perfectly situated for temple-sightseeing, it's in walking distance to many restaurants and yet very quiet. It's very easy and convenient to rent a e-bike directly with them (good price as well) . We would definitely stay there again, no wonder, it's often fully booked.

Wir hatten das Glück, 5 Nächte in diesem tollen Guesthouse zu verbringen. Wir haben es sehr genossen!!!! Jedes Zimmer hat einen Balkon, die Lage ist super ruhig und doch ist man zu Fuss schnell bei vielen Restaurants (unbedingt eine Pizza im La Pizza essen gehen). Für die Tempel-Besuche ist es ebenfalls ideal gelegen und man kann ein E-Bike den ganzen Tag, bzw. mehrere Tage am Stück mieten. Fast alle Pagoden zum besteigen waren geschlossenen (Januar 2019). Dank vielem Suchen und ganz vielen hilfreichen Tipps der Rezeption haben wir jeden Morgen einen tollen Ort gefunden, um den Sonnenaufgang über den Pagoden zu geniessen :-). Wir würden sofort wieder dort übernachten, kein Wunder, dass es oft ausgebucht ist.

Clean room with small bathroom. But it has everything you'll need. Owner puts thought into little details like a small tray to place toiletries in the shower area, bathroom mat and torchlight. These are the things I don't see in other higher rated hotels. Roof top dining hall serves good tasty breakfast which is refilled promptly. If you're up early, can view hot air balloons going by at the roof top. Guesthouse a little away from main road but plenty of restaurants and massage places within a few minutes walk. Will recommend.
