This glorious American landmark in Western New York State is the perfect adventure for families and all those who love nature.

Niagara Falls may be the iconic American vacation destination. With its blowing winds and powerful water, there is no better place to appreciate the forces of nature. The falls are not just pretty, but also very powerful more water passes over these waterfalls than any other waterfall in the world. Whether you are a nature buff or not, Niagara Falls State Park is a fascinating place to explore.

Start your day at the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center, where you can appreciate interactive displays and movies and even try rock climbing. Talk to one of the friendly staff members at the Discovery Center for tips on which hike is right for you and your family. No matter your energy or skill level, you can find a hike that is right for you. Guided tours are offered in the summer months.

Hop on the Niagara Scenic Trolley for an overview of the park and waterfall. Take an unforgettable ride on the Maid of the Mist boat, which takes you close to the rushing water at the lower river level. Stand on the Hurricane Deck during a Cave of the Winds tour and experience the roar and mist of Bridal Veil Falls dropping close to you. Finish a summer day watching a round of fireworks over the waterfall, best viewed from the Observation Deck.

Drive to Niagara Falls State Park in 30 minutes from Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Public transportation is available from the airport via shuttle. Use the free Discover Niagara Shuttle to travel between multiple destinations beside the river.

Reach Niagara Falls State Park by train from a variety of destinations via the Amtrak station located 3 miles (5 kilometers) away. The entire park is located on the American side of the border, but a passport is required for the Rainbow Bridge, a footpath that takes you to the Canadian side.
