Disappointing Stay – Only the Waterpark Was a Highlight
We recently stayed at Skyline Hotel & Waterpark, and unfortunately, the experience was not great.
After a 20-hour flight from Dubai, we were exhausted and looking forward to rest—but the first room we were given had such a strong, unpleasant smell that we couldn’t even enter it. Although the hotel changed our room after we complained, the new room was only slightly better.
There was a constant, loud noise from the radiator or AC unit, like the sound of boiling water, which disturbed us throughout our stay. The carpet was extremely dirty, and the room generally lacked basic comfort and cleanliness.
The only upside was the waterpark, which the kids really enjoyed. Aside from that, the service was poor. When we asked the receptionist to help us call a taxi, we were told to use our own mobile phone, even after explaining that we didn’t have a Canadian line. That was frustrating and unhelpful.
The hotel itself is very dated. There’s no kettle in the room, and we had to walk nearly 100 yards just to use a shared microwave. For just a two-day stay, the hotel felt hugely overpriced for what it offered.
Also, the check-in/check-out policy doesn’t make sense—you’re asked to check in at 4 PM, but check out at 11 AM, even though you’re paying for a full day. If the day starts at 12 AM, then guests should get access earlier. As it stands, it feels like a rip-off.
In summary, we wouldn’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend this ho
