「I arrived after dark and the hotel and the village were like a magical New England winter scene with sparkling lights everywhere. The proximity of the hotel to a typical New England church and numerous white painted wooden framed structures was a scene from our historical heritage. The hotel was reopened less than a year ago after extensive renovations. The outcome is a GEM. Decorations deserve an A+.」

There was BLOOD SPLATTERED ON THE WALLS, mold in the shower, holes in the wall stuffed with tissue, a nasty beanie covering the smoke detector. Towels were dirty, sheets were dirty. This place was a literal pit of nightmares. Go here to get hep c and bed bugs. We turned around and left, got a refund from Expedia. If you want to be in an episode of 20/20 then this is the place for you.」

「Way overpriced . I’ve stayed in other hotels in the area that included breakfast with hot tubs that are 50% less than this place. The place to put your shoes in the room had mud all over it. Maybe clean it before your next guest. 」

Our hosts were very kind, and put generous effort into providing delicious breakfasts, giving suggestions about local attractions, and allowing us as much or as little cat time as we wanted. The room we were in was very cozy, with a comfortable bed, and thoughtful touches such as a water kettle for tea or coffee, a small fridge, and a TV setup we didn’t take advantage of. 「The house was nice and the fireplace was lit up when we got home in the evening - so cozy. The area around the pool is fantastic. The pool, air hockey table, pool table, a bar, and outdoor cooking area, it really has something for everyone. 」
