The property was good for a cheap and quick stay for the Great North Run. The staff are nice and the property is clean. They do not provide soap, shampoo, toothpaste. There is no hair dryer. The matress sags. They only have a fitted sheet and a comforter. Buses nearby. Metro is 15 mins away. 15 mins walk to riverfront.

Disappointing

Positives : good price for central newcastle, especially with own bathroom. Staff on site 24/7. Shared kitchen and lounge space. Negatives : unable to contact reception by phone prior and throughout my stay. My key card had to be reset each day. One day I couldnt lock my room, and a member of staff at the desk said they would lock it, only to find out the following day there was an issue with the room and it would be reported to maintenence (so my room was unlocked all day). There was one hand towel in the room. When I asked for a larger towel at reception, I was given a further two hand towels. The shower is incredibly slow to drain. You are showering in an ankle deep puddle within minutes. No hangers provided. The kitchen area was filthy. Think overflowing bin with fruit flies. Mouldy products in the fridges. Plus, the oven didnt work. It was very noisy at night, but I am not holding this against the property, clearly its in a student area so its going to be noisy. Im just mentioning in case future guests are noise sensitive. I wouldnt stay here again!

Are you a student? Do you have no standards for where you stay? Then Bryson Court may be the place for you! The room was tired, there were marks on the walls, the bed was uncomfortable and dirty. The bathroom was okay, but no soaps etc in the room. One towel only. The shower drain was dirty and smelt awful. Kitchen was shared with undegrad students who were staying full time.

It was terrible and got worse the more I investigated. The drains were blocked and the bathroom not cleaned, dirty towels on the doors and the bed had black bits through the white sheets! Thank goodness the sheets were white so I could see how dirty it was!
