The front desk staff was absolutely uninterested in efficient assistance to the very long line of guests. Several of them were inside Reception and only one helping Honors guests, NONE helping non-honors guests. When concern was expressed to staff, they looked very annoyed and did not even address or apologize to the line - it took us about 45 min to check in with only 3 people ahead of us in line.
Booked two queen beds - hotel gave us one king and a sofa bed and said will send Bedding to room (for sofa bed). At 9:30 pm we had to go down, WAIT in the line again, and request the bedding which had not arrived at the room. The PHONE in the room was NOT WORKING so we had to go downstairs.
Hotel gives a voucher for $35 day credit for using local restaurant per day. The final invoice had 3 dinners at Herb Kitchen, and only ONE credit, not three credits of $35. When error was pointed out, it was met by cold silence, not even an apology. Invoice was corrected, reprinted, and shoved to me face down, as if it was a huge inconvenience.
Upon departure, Taxi cab that hotel hailed, demanded from us to pay in Cash or via Zelle. Proceeded to LIE that he started his meter late, even though hotel staff told driver which we heard - that there is a flat fee to JFK. Proceeded to DEMAND a Tip of $25, no less. Driving was awful, hitting breaks and having us slam against front seats and loud speaker blaring adjacent to headrests of back seat, windows wide open at 8:30 am to JFK.
