The room I was in was amazing and the loft style to it was awesome. It has some nice views of the mountains and it was so nice waking up seeing snow at the balcony. I will stay here every time i come back
Very nice small pension with an Udon restaurant included. We went there for a two day ski trip and it was an amazing experience. Very friendly staff, Japanese style lobby and restaurant. Clean down-to earth rooms with possibility to do some cooking for yourself in a shared kitchen. Only thing to avoid is the breakfast.
My stay at Pension Meteor was amazing! The staff were so friendly and spoke fluent English. They went out of their way to help me plan activities on my trip and understand the area. The beds were comfortable and the ambience was cozy. They even have an adorable and calm dog on the property who greeted me whenever I returned to the Pension! Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
We stayed here as part of a longer trip in Japan for our honeymoon. Chika was excellent at communicating before we arrived and was so friendly and welcoming. Great location in Echoland, 5 minute walk to the main street and lots of shuttle stops for ski resorts within 5 mins or less walk. Discount on rentals and lift tickets was great. We stayed in the adjacent log building which was beautiful and had a great kitchen and shared living area with a fire. Room itself was lovely, really cosy and warm with comfy beds. Chika even surprised us with a cheesecake board as a congratulations on our last night. We'd stay here again without hesitation and recommend it highly as a place to stay if you're coming to Echoland.
Pension Meteor was the perfect place to stay in Hakuba! Such a cute bed and breakfast vibe, the staff were so sweet and friendly, and you could feel their artistic touch in the decorations, the fittings and little messages around the place. Plus the location was so convenient - it felt secluded outside, but it was just a short walk from the main strip of Echoland where we went most nights for dinner.
The dry room and other accomodations for equipment were also appreciated, and kept our gear in good nick (be aware though, the ground can be a bit damp!)
Will have to come back here next time!
This was the perfect stay in Hakuba. Easy walking distance to restaurants and ski resort shuttles. The hospitality and helpfulness of the staff - particularly the main woman who seems to do everything around there - was second to none! She spoke perfect English and helped with everything from recommending restaurants and onsen, navigating how to take different ski shuttles, to even giving me a ride to the bus station early one morning when I wanted to catch an early shuttle for a powder day. I would stay here again without hesitation simply because of the incredible hospitality and helpfulness. I felt right at home, and she was an absolute rock star who made my stay amazing.
The breakfast in the onsite restaurant was fantastic and convenient, the drying room for ski gear was more than sufficient, and everything I needed was there. My room was very spacious and had everything you'd expect. My only slight complaint was that it was difficult to keep my room warm enough at times and it could be quite chilly in the evenings - however my stay also coincided with one of the coldest stretches you'll ever experience in Hakuba, so that was definitely a factor. For reference, I stayed in the "log cabin" which is a separate building from the main Pension Meteor building, and the log cabin seems a bit draftier. Fine once in bed with all the sheets on.
Overall I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Hakuba - especially those who only speak English.
The room was clean and suitable for a week stay in Hakuba. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the Hotel was well located to enjoy the amenities in Echoland.
The shuttle services to all the ski resorts are nearby which made it easy for my first time skiing in Hakuba.
