The property was resealing the driveway and painting parking lines. Our room smelled strongly of petroleum. We were on the first floor with the common area outside our window. People played loud music late into the night. The room was mainly clean, but the bedspread had dribbled coffee stains on it in multiple places. Breakfast was okay. Had multiple to-go choices.

Difficult to rate the property since it’s undergoing significant renovation. The updated areas are very nice and clean. We were in a renovated suite, which was quite large and comfortable from a size perspective. However, there were some shortcomings. The a/c was not hooked up in the main bedroom so we roasted. The kitchen sink only had hot water (dangerous with little kids), no cold. The doors to the bathrooms didn’t shut. These are items I’d expect would have been checked before renting the room. When I mentioned this to the front desk, the man shrugged - he really didn’t care. No apology, no “can I offer you something”, simply apathetic. I asked if there was an ice maker anywhere on the property and was informed there wasn’t. Breakfast was quite good. Location is great for many of the Mystic attractions. Would consider staying here again once the remodeling is complete.

The hotel was very clean and the staff went above and beyond to be helpful. I have never had such an easy time checking in, getting duplicate keys, and having questions answered. They were terrific. The rooms were spacious, the kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfy. Lots of extra towels too. Easy and plentiful parking. Great stay!

Property improvements were being done and there was loud machinery in the back parking lot that caused our pets distress and caused them to bark. We got an email saying someone complained about the barking. I called the hotel PRIOR to our trip when I found out about the construction inquiring what was being done and where it was in relation to our room, letting them know I was concerned about potential barking. I was assured it wouldn’t be an issue. Disappointed that they didn’t put us in an area further away from all that noisy activity.

We were extremely disappointed with this hotel. This is the second time we have stayed at a Marriott Hotel within one year, and the hotel was identified as having an indoor pool. Yet when we arrived and asked about the pool, we were told it had not been available since the fall of 2025. Yet, when we used the television to review the hotel amenities, the indoor pool was featured with pool hours. Clearly, this was false advertising! Marriott was initially unwilling to refund our money and offered no fee reduction since we used a third-party reservation (i.e. Expedia). Today, I called corporate headquarters. I was offered 50,000 points, equivalent to approximately one night at a Marriott Hotel and $100.00 toward our next stay. I would strongly urge any person or couple who values an indoor pool at a Marriott Hotel to call that hotel directly, BEFORE making a reservation, to learn whether an advertised pool is open. It might be best to obtain your response in writing.
