"We stayed in a Japanese style family room. It was clean and comfortable. Futons were a little thin so we stacked the extras for my husband. The food was delicious and the staff very warm and welcoming. We took the trailhead across from the hotel and enjoyed a run by the lake. Beautiful area. "

"The hospitality was amazing, there was a lady who absolutely adored my 2-year-old. She noted that my daughter likes mickey and brought mickey cutlery for her the next day. Food was good, even my picky toddler ate lots. Room was spacious and clean, right next to lake towada. A charming ryokan and I would like to return again some day. "

"Close to a JR station and walkable to the main Odate station, close to a bus stop and the desk is helpful to call a Taxi if that is what you are after instead. Close to the Akita Museum and places to eat, about a 4-5 minute walk to the nearby Lawson's as well as about a 10-15minute walk to the mall which has a big shop for food and drinks as well as a Daiso. Peaceful area, beautiful views of nature and the mountains that surround Odate. I just wish there had been an outlet next to the bed but...

"Hostel was not at the location provided in listing but 1.1 km away from the lake. Self-check in was fin but hostel was run down with many lights not working, cobwebs in hallways. Rooms were booked with private bathrooms but there was no private bathrooms. Bathrooms were communal and there was no shower just sinks with buckets. Sheets were clean but rooms had broken a/c, smelled of fumigation but there were still bugs, broken drawers and lights. It was the worst hostel I have stayed in. We booked...
