JOYinn
10/10 Excellent
"My favorite place that we stayed during our 2 week trip around Japan!! My sibling and I missed a train on the way from Takayama to Izu and our originally 6 hour travel plan became 12 hours. We arrived at JOYinn close to midnight, and Mr. Tack was so wonderful and accommodating! He was awake to greet us and help us with our luggage and even upgraded our room to an ocean view free of charge!! The inn was lovely and our room was perfect for us. It was comfortable and sizable and of course had a gorgeous view of the sea and mountains!! Mr. Tack offered free shuttle service in the mornings and on our last day, he even extended the time frame for us.
I think the only issue we had was the lack of things to do in the surrounding area. The neighborhood is beautiful, charming, and very pleasant to explore, but there are very few close restaurants and shops especially since I have dietary restrictions. They also open and close at kind of odd times. Thankfully, Mr. Tack kindly drove us around, and the taxis in the area were also very very cheap. Just keep in mind that there aren’t any super close attractions or convenience stores!
We had a great experience here and would definitely come again!!

"Wow.. What a wonderful stay! The staff was courteous, professional and kind. Room was kept tidy my entire stay. The rooftop onsen was sublime, the bowling alley was an awesome surprise, the hotel was accessible to gorgeous Jogasaki coastline and the views were immaculate. I left refreshed and inspired. To the Akazawa hotel I give my sincerest arigatou gazaimasu! "
"The hotel has excellent facilities, in particular with private outdoor hot spring water bath, which is very enjoyable. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is excellent, but little too expensive. The hotel also has shuttle bus to the train station. Some facilties need proper maintainence, such as basin. Cleaness could be improved. Overall, this is a good hotel."
"I had a pleasant stay. The staff were exceptionally kind, and the driver was also very courteous. One of the highlights was the complimentary drinks available at most times, including alcoholic beverages. While the building and facilities felt a bit dated, the private baths attached to some rooms were absolutely fantastic. The hotel is surrounded by a spacious property, offering a peaceful and quiet atmosphere that made for a relaxing experience.
