It’s worth a trip. One of the best. Though rushed for a day trip. Don’t miss it
Served by both cable car and cog railway. Go up one way and down the other for a wonderful experience
did not go there
Do the triangle tour. It’s dicsounted you have the Swiss rail pass. After the boat you get on this Interesting train ... sit on the left as you are walking into the train. Also when you get to the top every one climbs to the top but if you take the trail passs the hotel and resteraunt you see a lot of great views.
Do the whole round trip -- bus to starting point, cable cars (small then large) to the top, cog railway down the other side, then boat back to Lucerne: an adventure with hiking at the top for those so inclined or just eat lunch and admire the views. Go before noon to get the clearest views of Mt. Blanc. Swiss Travel Pass holders get a major discount; otherwise, it's pricey (SF 99 for an all-inclusive ticket) but definitely worthwhile. (Wish I had known of this option beforehand.)
