Lovely beach, lovely pool

This guest house is steps away from gorgeous Mount Lavinia Beach. The rooms are well maintained, and so is the pool. The staff are extremely friendly and graciously accommodated my short-notice stay. I'll return the next time I need a place to crash in Mount.

Dissapoinment

Hotel is located next to the railway, so noise can be heard in rooms all the time. This also makes relaxing at pool impossible. Staff was a bit so-so, and hotel is filled with restrictions. In reception sign "hotel policy no refund" doesn't give very welcoming feeling. Rooms were untidy; for example plastic flowers were covered in dust. Over all hotel didn't seem well maintained. To be honest, you can get nicer hotel with better rooms and staff from nearby at same price or cheaper.

it is suitable for couple, and nearest of beach, this hotel has privet beach and swimming pool, but there is one problem of WiFi, WIFI provides in only lobby not at room, and there is no service phone in rooms,so there is some problem.

Пляж в 1 минуте ходьбы, рядом жд станция и рельсы за отелем, ночью слышно поезда. Нет кондиционера и водонагревателя. Магазины и кафе в пешей доступности. Завтрак вкусный,персонал отзывчивый. В номере серые полотенца (ранее когда они были белыми),запах как и везде-сыростью, душевая кабина протекала, слив от раковыны выходил из стены в душевую кабину, и все что мылось в раковине, оказыаалось на полу в душевой. Вода в бассейне во дворе мутная. Цена не соответствует качеству, если выбирать как бюджетный вариант, второй раз мы бы не остановились.

What you see is what you get! On the plus side, the staff are very friendly, good breakfast, it's very near the beach, and it's very cheap. On the minus side, the room needed serious renovation, and it's right by the railway line, so very noisy at times.

Close to beach

We stayed for 7 nights. The staff were amazing and helpful. Meals were good and filling. Breakfast was always served fresh and hot. The beds were comfortable for a good nights sleep and the hotel is within walking distance to the train station.

Forkert information omkring hotelfaciliteter

På hjemmesiden på Expedia stod der, at dette hotel tilbød aircondition og kabel-tv på et standard værelse. Ingen af disse faciliteter indgik dog i vores reservation på trods af dette. Hotelmanageren tilbød hverken en beklagelse herfor eller en form for kompensation, men sagde blot, at dette ikke indgår. Dårlig service og behandling, men på trods af dette et okay hotel. Dog uden varmt vand.

Hotel not clean but staffs in general is helpful!

The first night was horrendous as aircon was not working, there were lots of hair in the toilet,the level of cleanliness seems misplaced. But overall the breakfast staffs and staffs around the compound were friendly and helpful.

Back street on dirt road by railroad tracks.

The breakfast was pitiful. The cook was unable to prepare a fried egg. Orange juice was actually Tang and they have extra charge for everything, including water. My cup was dirty and the staff member got upset when I asked him to change it. The A/C leaked, towel was rough and didn't smell clean. There is no internet in the rooms. The water pressure is very low and sometimes there is no hot water. The hotel is located at the end of a dirt road, just before the railroad tracks. Depending on the room, the sound of train going by is unbearable, especially if you are a light sleeper.

Bien placé pour aller à la plage

Juste pour une nuit avant de prendre l'avion. Pas cher et près de la plage, avec un personnel accueillant et très serviable. Idéal pour un séjour court et pour ceux qui veulent dormir entre 22 h et 6h30 du matin.

Half of rooms are old and really need painting and replastering. Curtains really old and room furniture's seen better days. TV reception awful. You cross railway line to get to beach 30 seconds - watch fishermen pull in their nets :-) Breakfast was fruit only and I asked if I could have the Sri Lankan rice which others were eating. No madam... you must order 24 hrs before! Really? Not ideal for solo travellers perhaps. If you are in new section you may have windows that close but take mosquito net if not. I won't be going back. Sorry :-( DB

Hidden dissapointments

We booked this hotel online as part of a holiday package. On first look it appeared to be nice and very good for the money. Once we arrived however it was a different story. The rooms are basic but ok, the windows do not shut properly and if this was a cold country you would have drafts coming in 24/7. The shower was ridiculous, It would have been quicker to go outside when it was raining. What you don't see on the hotels website is that there is a big derelict building overlooking the hotels pool, very unsightly. There is also a railway line directly out the back and its very busy morning and evening, which was very noisy as they sound the horns to alert people that its coming as there is a foot path crossing right out the back of the hotel. The train passengers can see over the hotel wall, we had many a time where they were watching us in the pool and waving. The staff overall are very accommodating and the rooms for the price are ok, however the area is not nice, don't be fooled by the beach location, the beach is full of rubbish and litter, If you want a nice beach location you really need to go further down south.
