Our check-in was lovely. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and given the run-down of how to get into our room, the availability of snacks and coffee, and what to do if we need help after hours. The room was spotless and incredibly well updated. It felt very high end for a privately-owned hotel. The water pressure in the shower was great and the water stays hot. We’ll definitely stay again if we’re back in the area.

We stayed at the Moultonborough Inn for a few days in early December, when we were in the area photographing a wedding. This motel was an affordable option for us, and only 15 minutes from where the wedding was taking place. I can't say enough about our stay. The lobby was warm and welcoming. It was decorated nicely for the holiday, and soft Christmas music was playing. The owner Donna was sitting behind the desk, and she too was warm and welcoming. We chatted a bit about the property, and after a quick check-in, she mentioned that there would be tea/coffee, oatmeal cups and homemade pumpkin bread available in the morning. Perfect! Our room was on the 2nd floor (there is no elevator), and was immaculately clean, modern looking and comfortable. Donna really put a lot of thought into the room not only with decor, but with providing simple instructions (for ceiling fan operation, TV operation, etc). There was a microwave, refrigerator, table for two, dishes, silverware, coffee maker, etc. Anything you could need or want, was there! The hot water was plentiful. Noise in the inn was minimal. We would HIGHLY recommend this motel, and look forward to visiting again someday soon!

Nice Place to Stay, By Mountains and Lakes
I enjoyed my all-too-brief stay at the Moultonborough Inn. I am familiar with the Lake Winnipesaukee region, having vacationed in the area when younger. Was visiting family in Laconia, so chose this Inn not too far away. Alas, my departure from home was delayed, so I only had one, rather than the two planned nights at this Inn. During my time there, I just "chilled" and relaxed. Very comfy and cozy room, with a nice kitchenette. A grocery/convenience store is next door. Had "brunch" up the road at "The Village Kitchen" (I highly recommend). And what is a stay in Moultonborough without a stop at "The "Old Country Store?" Very cool. Many thanks to Doreen and Donna, and the housekeeping staff. Great hospitality, and tasty blueberry bread at departure! I hope to return in the future for a longer stay. Thank you!

Affordable and comfortable.
The price was right. The person at the front desk was very warm and welcoming. When I asked about where to eat she told me of the of the best choices and gave me a printed list. The room was clean and comfortable and the bed slept well. The fan in the bathroom was extremely loud but that was a very minor thing.

Overall the property was clean and nice. The bed and mattress should be improved a lot. The bed made creaking noises with every turn and twist. We could hear people walking upstairs.

Great experience! Labor Day weekend at the lake. The property is amazing. They even have a gas grill for use! Will definitely be back.

for a no frills hotel/motel, this place was very good. They have obviously put some $$ into this hotel recently as every room was freshly painted and new flooring. Pets are allowed on first floor units and it's conveniently located on a main road in the Lake Winnipesaukee area. Rooms are small but perfect for a short stay.

I had to ring the doorbell and bang in the office door to get someone. She said she was going to leave early and send me an email on how to get into my room. How would I know to check my email and with lousy Wi-Fi in the area I may not have had access to my email! Then with check out at 11am I had housekeeping knock and open my door at 9:55am and I had my alarm set for 10am. I work nights and am not an early riser. What if I had just gotten out of the shower and not dressed?? This is highly inappropriate! If check out is 11am, then start cleaning at 11am! To top it all off my bed sheets looked like someone had already slept in them but it was too late at night once discovered to contact anyone especially when the office staff was leaving early! Just a huge disappointment.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience with us. I assure you that this is defintely out of the ordinary for us. We usually do not send emails for late check ins. What we would do is send a text with your late check in inforamtion. In your room and on the front door there is our after hours emergency phone number that can be called at any time. I can defintely assure you that our sheets are washed and cleaned in between every guest, as we have onsite laundry. I do apologize for the early knock on your door. We work really hard to do whatever we can to help guests enjoy their stay.

Great find
We were pleasantly surprised by the up to date modern feel of the room itself. The exterior could use updating though. The front desk staff was so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend the brook walk at castle in the clouds.

simple clean hotel no frills.
Hotel was very basic but room was clean and well equipped. They do not clean rooms daily if you are there for short 3 day stay like we had. For TV need your Netflix or Amazon account to watch anything other than Youtube. Location is convenient right off main road and next to gas station variety store.
