Chapel Hill Motel is a good example of a well kept locally owned hotel. It was very quiet and clean within miles of beautiful beaches on Lake Michigan.
The night before we stayed an very expensive motel in Marquette for my grandson's wedding. I would compare Chapel Hill to that one on cleanness and comfort. The owner as so helpful when I got lost and called him for directions. I will definitely stay there again when doing to that area.
This is a basic rural motel. It was wife approved clean, in room coffee was bad, inexpensive so could go out to restaurant for real good breakfast. Value was a Nine out of Ten. Quiet, easy to use, on the way to where we were headed. Wife says we can stay there again.
Mold concern, building needed to be cleaned outside debris need to be picked up around building. Rooms were clean but beding was old!. As a retired insured agent my concern was building neeeded to be up dated and mold qas a big concern!
I wanted a reasonably priced clean and comfortable motel to spend a night, that is exactly what I got. shower was great as was the mini frig and microwave and coffee maker with coffee and tea. Very clean and neat. Even had coffee and toaster in the office with some type of pastry in the morning. I recommend staying only if you are not super duper fussy. One thing was the tv reception went out but it was a stormy night and thats what you get with a dish. So for me and my girlfriend it fit the bill just fine. Would stay again for sure.
This was a $55/night motel that I paid double that for. No breakfast or food on premises--not even coffee. There was ice available. And there was no place to eat near;by. But the biggest problem is the strong smell of mildew. It didn't go away even though we kept the window open. I was very happy to leave this place.
For the price, this place was great. The motel was quiet and the gentleman that works there was awesome. Will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.
This is an okay place to stop if you just need to sleep, but still way overpriced. It’s basically like stepping back into the 70’s as nothing has been updated, the front office is lacking any technology and the closest anything is about 20miles away. Tried to call about a room issue and no answer, so had to pack all our stuff and drive back down there. Kinda a tourist trap, but the room had what we needed to sleep and get out first thing in the am.
We enjoyed our stay. Yes the motel is out dated but it was located perfect for us. The bed was comfy and hot water. The owner Roger was great to talk to everyday. He doesn't service the rooms so you have to get new towels. Whuch wasn't a big deal for us. Would stay here again!
This is a very old property that needs a lot of attention. No mowing being done. Needs new paint everywhere. The only saving grace was our room was very clean.
Looked at a number of hotels, resorts, and Bed & Breakfast places for our trip tp Mackinaw Island. The downtown area is very congested and surprisingly empty of restaurants and breakfast places. This hotel is 21 miles out from St. Ignace and you avoid the downtown craziness, and there is two restaurants a couple of miles further down the road.
