"Location! Location! Location! Great place to stay for proximity to parks. Dining room was good. Good dining room service, good food. Front desk staff were great. Awesome cookies. Convenience store staff was super friendly and helpful. Great gift shop staff. HOWEVER...Housekeeping could have been much better. Floors in cabin needed vacuuming upon arrival, one bed had been slept in (evidence of hair on pillows and sheets and body wrinkles on sheet). We were booked for 7 days. Our room was not tended too other than trash pick up a couple times during the week and we finally had to request fresh towels and used towel pick up after 5 days of no service (other than trash removal). Suggest housekeeping manager call guests on day 2 or 3 to monitor guest satisfaction."
"The hotel and lobby areas are “old” in that historic hotel type of feel. We pulled into registration, walked in the lobby and were so happy for our choice to stay here. We ended up in the “annex hotel” which was a separate building around back. The room was nice, spacious however no TVs and no WiFi for this property. There was some service and areas you could go to get better service. The surrounding areas and fishing village were great. Highly recommend for those wanting off the beaten on the east side of the park path and closer to better potential wildlife areas. The restaurant had a great menu, and the food was fine. Would eat there again if given the choice, just not overly impressed. The lake view is amazing and the hotel parking lots have bison and elk running around. We also got a great coyote encounter."
"When we arrived late afternoon, we found full trash bags in our room which hadn’t been taken away, and the heater didn’t work. The staff were friendly though and switched our cabin, so we had a good night there after all."
"Booked this for my parents were passing through to see Yellowstone. Based on good ratings and boy was I wrong. The bathroom was gross with used shampoo wrappers left in the untouched and uncleaned shower. An old toothbrush on the floor, the body wash and conditioner were empty containers and when calling the staff, we were told there was nothing to do. Calling them twice, we were told we’d get a call back from a manager…nothing happened. For almost THREE HUNDRED a night, the room was completely unattended and unacceptable. Very disappointed and would recommend checking out other hotels in the area."
"Short drive from Moran junction to the property. No fridges in standard rooms and minimal outlets to plug in phones etc. but a great overall property. Short walk to the ice machine, store and restaurant on site. Has gas station as well which saves a 45 minute drive back to Jackson. Have stayed here multiple times and is a good value."
"The location right next to the geysers is the only reason to stay there. Stay at another hotel and just take a walk through the lobby. We booked a double room and was given a single. The manager told us that since we booked through Expedia there was nothing he could do to help, and he didn't seem to care that we were stuck. I had to pay for a second room. The actual rooms are small and run down. Threadbare and stained carpets. We had a view of the construction for what looks like a new hotel."
"We stayed in one of the wagons, which was a unique experience...one we would do again.
Showers weren't the best, but it is a working ranch. Food at the cafe was pretty good. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Whilst we were there it rained overnight, but we weren't worried about rain getting into the wagon, and in point of fact - it was so relaxing listening to the rain on the wagon's canopy.
Overall, we would recommend this unique experience!"
