"We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and been really pleased with the experience. This time it was mixed. The public room was pleasant and it was good to see a real fire. When we arrived we had a drink from the bar and were lucky to get seats next to the fire and were nice and cosy. Unfortunately, the rest of the room was chilly as evidenced by the number of blankets stored in baskets. Our room had an unpleasant odour and put it down to perhaps a broken seal on the drains. "Great hotel for our stopover on the way south. Often stay at B B hotels, most are great value, clean and modern, perfect for a cheap overnight stay. This one was wonderful, comfy bed, lots of pillows, fridge and kettle. Good onsight restaurant, reasonably priced. Even a pool, shame it was raining! Polite and helpful staff, we'll definitely stay again."

"We expected LaChatard to be nice but a fairly basic stopover for our visit to the area however the service, facilities, and restaurant were all fantastic. The restaurant serves a local menu and wine, and the food was beautiful. Service was very friendly and accommodating. The team evidently took pride in their work. Facilities were comprehensive too with a well stocked gym, indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, and sunbathing area. A great place to stay."
