Finca Sunset Monteverde was absolutely outstanding — easily one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. The house is clean, new, and beautifully designed, with attention to detail everywhere. The views are truly out of this world and something you’ll never get tired of, whether it’s morning coffee or sunset. The host went above and beyond by leaving a welcome basket with beer, wine, eggs, local fruits and bread, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. Everything about this stay exceeded our expectations. We absolutely loved it and would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to anyone visiting Monteverde.

You will have everything you need to stay inside this amazing location, enjoy views with a hot tub experience and nearby grocery to use the full service kitchen set up! The family/staff/grounds keepers were so friendly and provided a lot of information, we did not have the time to take them up on an of their tour offers, but we would have felt very comfortable doing so. There is a small trail option on the property, we were provided with fresh eggs, bread and jam and everyone responded quickly when we had questions. The location to shopping and food is fantastic. I can’t say enough about our experience.

Beautifully maintained property with humming birds and other types of birds right outside. Very quiet, spacious and private. Our family of four fit very comfortably in the two separate bedrooms. The jacuzzi was prefect after our zip lining adventure nearby. Would definitely stay here again!!

Lovely place in the forest with amazing views! Toucans were plentiful. We enjoyed the sunsets here. The accommodation is spacious and has everything we could need. There was a beautiful fresh spread of breakfast food waiting for us as well.

We had a short trip (2 nights) and wish it was longer. The house (2 bed 1 bath) was stunning and clean. The whole property was breathtaking. The host/tour guide (Alex) was the most hospitable and kind guide. He works at the property to welcome guests and facilitate adventures. He took us and another couple to the Cloud Forest, we went to lunch at a local spot and he showed us a lot of history. He was such a pleasure!

On our last day, I finished a shower and slid open the glass shower door. After opening it about 6-12 inches (gently -- with no unusual force), the door completely shattered on me, exploding into thousands of small pieces and cutting me extensively. I received local medical attention for stitches and treatment. I told the owners of the incident and requested a refund for our stay. It seemed fair. The owners did not believe the story, implying that I caused the door to shatter and told me they wanted me to pay for the door, This is still an open matter. Look, the bungalow itself is very nice and the view is spectacular. If this incident hadn't happened, it would have been five stars all the way. But if some freak accident happens to you on their property through no fault of your own (cut by sharp edge on counter? ceiling fan falls on your head? foot falls through floor? who knows...) they will not stand behind you. Monteverde is full of beautiful properties that have great views. You may want to check some of those out first.

Difficult to find in the dark but there is gate with name on it and they’ll open it for you to enter . Parking at mini-house. 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen. Deck with sun bathing area. Jet tub. Patio. Good wifi. Fans. Big zapper. Lots of bugs. Water was not always hot but warm. Great onsite hike with amazing views! Would come back!

Great views, good location not far from town, very clean, unique layout, and also private hiking access… we really enjoyed our stay here. It was very comfortable. (My only complaint was that it wasn’t possible to distinguish between the shampoo, conditioner, or body wash bottles. But that is a very minor inconvenience.) And my kids are 14 and 11 and there were thrilled with it. Overall, I give this place an A+.

This place was magical! So clean and updated, yet right on the edge of the jungle. We felt so at home and peaceful here. The hostess was amazing!! She gave us so many great recommendations for places to go and eat that where amazing. We could live here year round!
