"This was our second time staying here and we love this hotel. It is quaint, conveniently located, and we love the room. Also they were painting which was nice to see since it mean they are keeping the property current."

"I love the portola! Only place I stay and travel almost monthly down to Monterey. The rooms are always clean, spacious, the beds are very comfy. Partial bay view is a must. Balcony has two chairs nice to enjoy ur coffee on or listen to some wildlife (sea lions). Basically 4 restaurants attached to the hotel, Carmel bakery n coffee inside the hotel. The location is prime! Walk right and head down Alvarado st you got ur breweries and 10-15 restaurants. Go left and you’re on the Monterey pier , 7 restaurants, a bunch of clothes ans candy shops and my favorite whale watching. I do every time and it’s so close to portola. "

"Clean room, friendly staff, slippers and robe provided. Great pricing!!! I would totally come back here. Everything is remodeled & you can’t hear your neighbors unless you’re downstairs you can hear a bit of walking on top but other than that it was a 10/10 stay for us!! "
