We had a great weekend stay! Having an apartment to ourselves provided wonderful privacy. It was a pleasant morning walk into town (just over a mile) to local shops and restaurants, and Ubers were quick and plentiful at night. On top of that, the free parking was easy and convenient.

Beautiful property, close to busy area by a 5-10 min drive. Room was clean, quite large, and beautifully decorated. The instructions for check in and out were quite clear: we had absolutely no issues. Will definitely be staying here again.

I enjoyed the stay so much. My room was stunning. It was clean,big, and very comfortable. You are given a code to get through the front door and a code to get into your room. It was very easy. Such a beautiful place the best place I've stayed in a very long time.

We were there during the busiest weekend in Newport. It was the weekend of the boat show and the food and wine festival. On top of that, there were weddings left and right so lodging rates were sky high. The Hamilton Hoppin House was a good deal compared to other lodging options in the general vicinity. What's good: it's very clean, it's convenient to Newport -- most places are a 10-15 minute drive. It has adequate guest parking and when it's busy downtown, it's easy to get an Uber. Also, compared to the newer hotels in the area, the rooms are big. What to know if you choose to stay here: It's self check-in so there's no staff on hand if you need anything. Keep an eye on your messages (ours went through the Expedia inbox) for how to get into the house, what your room number is and the number key code to get into your room. Be mindful too if you have luggage. There is no elevator. It's an old house that's on the National Register of Historic Places so keep that in mind. Those with accessibility needs may need to ask for the one room on the ground floor. That's the room we got but know too -- in keeping with an old house -- you could hear people when they move around upstairs or go down the staircase if you book that room. Overall: good option if you don't mind not having a full-service hotel.

The self parking was a perfect start to a perfect stay. The check-in was seamless and getting to the room was so fun! It is an elegant home that is beautifully decorated! I stayed in room 9 which had the most amazing bathtub ever!!! Highly recommend staying here for a relaxing getaway.
