"Built in 1920’s-Inn w recent renovated crisp clean white rooms. Dining on site, watching freighters go by on the St Clair River. Hard wood doors, large windows lead out to the boardwalk. Beautiful fireplace in sitting area. Forget those higher priced bland hotels. This Inn is one of a kind. "
"Staff are friendly.
Breakfast is just okay. Elevator scary and don’t always work. Rooms okay but hallways not very clean.
Noisy kids all night long but that’s not the hotels fault."
"We weren't able to eat while we were there due to our activities.
We didn't have any extra toilet paper in our rooms, we had to ask for a hair dryer, and both sets of bathroom doors were really warped and needed a paint refresh. There was a slight odor in the hallways as well. Staff was extremely friendly though"
"The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. I loved the walk-in shower. However, I would suggest adding something on the bottom of the shower as it was awfully slippery. The breakfast buffet was very good. It would have been better if it were open until after 10am. We missed out on the second day by 10 minutes."
"Long story short… wouldn’t return due to safety concerns (see last paragraph), dirty jacuzzi, and breakfast quality.
We just stayed for a night so our daughter could swim. The pool was okay. A little busy but not terrible for a weekend. The hot tub was gross. So much chlorine we couldn’t even sit by it the first night. The next morning when we went first thing there was literally a film of nastiness on the top, floating hair, and a bandaid…
The staff were all friendly. The breakfast was just regular, underwhelming hotel breakfast… but the cook was so so nice. The room was pretty clean other than trash left by the last guest.
The most unsettling thing though was that our door didn’t shut all the way on its own. The first night I was sure I shut the door all the way, but when we got back it was cracked. The next day when we left I’m POSITIVE I yanked that door shut all the way and even tried to open it again to make sure. When we got back it was cracked again. The cleaners were close by, but there was nothing cleaned or restocked, and they’re only supposed to come every other day. Even if it was hotel staff… they shouldn’t have been in our room the first night (between 7:30-9:30 pm), they didn’t clean or restock anything in the morning, and they should’ve made sure the door was shut. We would’ve left had we been staying longer, but by the time we decided someone was sneaking in our room we were getting ready to leave."
