"Coyote South was a wonderful option for low cost high quality stay in Santa Fe. The service and welcome was excellent. The rooms were older and small but functionally comfortable, and some quaint details that make it low-end boutique hotel vs other low-cost options. It was a little loud at night, but expected with the location. The best part of the rooms were the comfortable beds - soft, cotton bedding (no polyester!) and just the right warmth level. The Keurig in the rooms made great coffee while I enjoyed the DELICIOUS included breakfast burritos. Such a wonderful way to start my day. Coyote South is close to SF centre, though easier to access with a car. I recommended it to others I met along the way during my weeklong trip in NM. Thank you!!"
"The lobby is lovely, as is the staff at the front desk. Unfortunately, we had a bathroom door which did not close. We notified staff 3 times. It had swollen over the years and most like had been reported before. Also, we spent two nights there and we did not get maid service the second day. We had expected that our towels would have been changed. The breakfast is a hot breakfast which is more than many other hotels. Overall, I liked the place especially the beautiful Kachina Doll fireplace in the lobby. If you get room 325, see if the bathroom door works!"
"Be aware that this place looks amazing but it’s nothing more than lipstick on a pig!
Arrived expecting to pay cash as requested and they had charged my card before I got there. Went to room it was dirty. Got new room with 2 beds so couldn’t sleep together. Was told about the great happy hour by the front desk and waited until 4 for it. Took a bath before and the shower valve would not release all the way so I was getting splattered on the head and face while trying to relax in the tub. Hard to do when the drain plug wouldn’t seal and tub kept draining. Had to put a rag to plug it. Noticed how poorly maintained the bathroom was with disgusting paint job, old faucets and mold around the faucet valve.
Went to happy hour to eat and have a drink. Told the manager about the tub issues. Then learned there was no happy hour and they were closed for a private party. Very disappointed we had to go out and spend a lot more than planned to eat somewhere else.
Back in the room we turn on the tv and notice the screen has a pink greenish hue. Tried to adjust the color without success. At this point giving up on all hope of a good stay.
But wait it got better…trying to sleep was horrible as the street noise and railway were very loud almost like there were no windows in the place.
Went to breakfast the next morning and it was ok at best, yet it was the best part of the stay so far.
Left and will never stay here again."
