Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows

"The property itself is a magical location. It felt spiritual. The restaurant on-site however, is disappointing and very expensive for what you get. We ate elsewhere , after our initial experience. There is a convenience room refrigerator and we went to Safeway 5 minutes away for some snacks and drinks. They give you water canisters and they have nice refill stations, which ox convenient . On beach towels they use cards. You each get a card If your turning in the towel and they shut down the station You’ll take your towel to the front desk for your card. Which you need. They have a luau show at night and may have to search for parking if you’ve left the property and are returning. This can be frustrating breath, we sat and watched until someone left. The property has acquaint charm as it’s built in the 60’s and they’ve updated some things but not the big wood furnishings which we liked. Remember to be kind to the birds as there are many sweet ones around the property. We loved that too. Don’t be caught off guard by fees at check out. Familiarize yourself with daily fees for the amenities and the PARKING. Don’t let this stop you, it’s Hawaii . I know we will be back . Mahalo!"

"The hotel is clean, the staff is very friendly and the rooms are very comfortable. It has a bit of a 60’s madmen feel- in the best way. My only complaint is that we wanted to surf and it wasn’t really a great location for that so we ended up at whaler’s village to surf, which was fine, just not quite as easy as right in front of our own hotel."

"Property is located on the best beach in Maui, with a walkable beach towards Wailea. Has the best grass area to watch the sunset with lawn chairs available for use. We stayed in the standard hotel room which was clean but small. Noise level was loud for the room because they are located by the walkways. We were bummed to find out the restaurant was being renovated at the time of our stay so we weren’t able to utilize all amenities. The 808 general store is extremely convenient and has the best staff working at all times. We will definitely be back when The Beach House restaurant opens and will most definitely pay extra for a balcony room! If you are unsure about this hotel, my advice… book it, you won’t be disappointed with the best beach and beautiful views!"

"Everything went smoothly! Staff was great, even upgraded our room without request. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful! Food was excellent everywhere on site and the hotel is perfect walking distance to shops and other resorts!"

"Overall, staff was very friendly! Shout out to the female concierge! She is hilarious and knows how to deliver a good time. The two outdoor pools are gorgeous especially at night with the beachfront view. If you’re on a budget, I highly recommend. It is definitely an older establishment and the cleanliness of the rooms are a little subpar, but the staff and amenities make up for it. Also, the rooms have their own washer, dryer, full kitchen, and iron. It made packing so much easier."
