"Excellent B&B in a great setting with super friendly and professional staff. The room was very well looked after, it was in pristine condition and had all of the amenities we needed. Convenient parking right outside, and the best breakfast I've ever had at a B&B - A selection of cereals, fruit and yogurt, freshly baked pastry, juices, tea and coffee and a delicious cooked option. Amazing value, highly impressed and we will definitely return if we're in the area again!"

"Website not updated. Staff struggled to give correct information.Lovely quite room, hotel has so much potential but lacking in many areas. When teething problems ironed out I'm sure it will be a great place to stay in an outstandingly beautiful area."

"The blind bull is a little slice of luxury set in an idyllic location and providing top flight services. The food is amazing. The staff are very kind and helpful and accommodations wonderfully sumptuous. Highly recommend it and we will definitely be back."

"The breakfast was really good as was the lady that served us. The room was nice and big although in need of decorating with ripped off wallpaper and holes in the bathroom, plus the TV didn't work, which I presume the guy behind the bar knew as he didn't seem interested when we told him.
All in all a good stay, worth what we paid."

"The stay was just amazing; the owner could not have been more charming and I wish him all the best for his new business - from my experience it will be a huge success."

"We really enjoyed the whole stay. The scenery and set up is beautiful. Our room was lovely and bedding clean. Staff were amazing. Very friendly.
The only issue we had was the food. We have a meal in the restaurant and it was £16 for a microwave curry. Drinks expensive and breakfast basic. This is the only thing to let it down. However there is plenty of food options in Matlock Bath itself."

"There was no sun lounges so you have to lie down on the floor .
The pool wouldn’t be good if you have kids . You are only allowed to go up and down . All the lanes !!! Not even one lane in the massive swimming pool so you can swim and relax ! So, that part was disappointing :("
"A very special place to stay as this was the family home of Florence Nightingale. We stayed in two bedrooms which were the rooms that she grew up in before she went to Crimea. This is not a hotel. It’s more of a guest house with a few of the rooms rented out on a nightly basis. The property is accessed through several gates so it’s on very private land. The views are amazing of the local countryside and there’s a very beautiful garden around the house and sheep in the fields a little further away. The host at the House house may change in the future but we had a lovely lady from Ukraine called Svitlana who made us most welcome staying at the house. She made us a wonderful breakfast in the morning to order and did everything we asked to help and made our stay very pleasant. Beware there are no TV in the bedroom but there was a TV in the lounge downstairs. Some of the downstairs rooms could be used for an intimate breakfast with great views into the countryside. The Location was perfect for visiting Matlock and Matlock Barth with the attractions of Abraham Heights, fish and chip shops along the river Derwent, etc and it was a 30 minute drive to Chatsworth and Bakewell and Haddon Hall. Overall I would highly recommend a few nights at this location especially given the hospitality from Svitlana and the historic nature of the house"
"I highly recommend this place. The breakfast was perfect each morning. The location is great and made it easy to get around. My room was ideal and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!"
