Gorgeous hotel, restored thoughtfully in Matera tradition. Staff were very helpful and communication prior to our visit was great. Restaurants were recommended and booked for us and trips arranged.

I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. Everything was exceptional - from the staff who radiated kindness and positivity, to the towels which might be the softest I've ever felt! It was a magical stay for us and we're so grateful.

Corte San Pietro has created a space where you can connect intimately with the nature, history and beauty of the area. The architecture and design used elements of stone, wood, metal and textile in a modern way that still honors the past. The hosts were exceptionally attentive and friendly. The breakfast was as delicious as it was beautiful. I will hold this place in my heart’s memory.

We stayed in room 19. The room was gorgeous. Comfortable and nice spaces. The staff were all extremely helpful, especially Anna (. Also the breakfast staff and porter, who I don't have named of). Breakfast was delicious in a lovely room with a live piano player. Communication was excellent before and during our stay. Good location. Great restaurants nearby. We also used their parking service and luggage tranfer service. That worked well. 10 star review!!!

Everything about our stay at the hotel was excellent, such a great location ! Our room was so lovely and how fun to sleep in a beautiful cave . The hotel is amazing! It is a unique experience in every detail. The room takes you back in time. The breakfast with the life piano 🎶 was fantastic. The manager and the staff were awesome. Matera is a city everyone must visit and this hotel the place where you can live the experience.

FULL STOP! BOOK IT! Anne, Giuseppe and Angela in the breakfast room are ALL AMAZING! The entire staff was kind and supportive of even helping me talk italian because I was in language school. Get the parking information in advance and reserve your spot. They will arrange for a pick up at the garage and you don't have to schlepp your luggage which in Matera can be challenging. I absolutely LOVED this property and I have traveled to 37 countries. Charming - unique and I simply adored the cave experience.

This is truly an exceptional experience. The staff was very communicative from the moment I booked our reservations. They helped identify and secure parking and transport directly to the hotel (a huge help when trying to move numerous bags through an old city with lots of steps and hills). When we arrived to check in we greeted so warmly it felt like we were old friends. The staff is attentive and kind and helpful. The rooms are just as special and romantic as you’d imagine when staying in such an ancient city. And the showers have awesome water pressure and really hot water! The location is ideal - lots of restaurants, shops, and endless views. The breakfast is generous and delicious. Do not miss trying the homemade cakes! Checking out was just as lovely as checking in. We were actually sad to leave and hope to visit again someday.
