When we pulled up to this one, I really questioned my decision. From outside it looked a little sketchy. But a perfect example of not judging a facility by its cover. The rooms were great. Large. Well stocked. Good half sized mini-fridge. Microwave. Beds were comfortable. Very clean. For me, likely the best rooms of the four places we stayed. Some specific points: *You get an email with the key code for your room's lock. I liked that so I could arrive at my own timing. My traveling partner was less keen on that. *There was a number to call if you needed anything as well as a phone at the lobby desk but I really didn't need it. *As mentioned, the exterior looks rough and I can see it throwing some people off. If the owners could afford to fix up the exterior then I think they'd have even more business. *It is right on the highway so you have highway noise but that didn't bother us but it might if you are a light sleeper. *When we arrived it looked like the attached restaurant was closed down. That didn't help with the exterior look. But it's only open for breakfast and lunch. We had breakfast there before leaving and it was one of my favourite meals with great staff. The price was good for the Gaspe for what we obtained. The night before we had stayed at a place $100 more per night and I preferred this location. I would stay here again. And if I lived in Matane - the restaurant would be a regular place for me.
