Circulo de Bellas Artes is one of the most popular and biggest of the rooftops in Madrid. The entrance fee is 4 euros but the view at night is definitely worth it.
I think this sums up the cityscape of Madrid to me: every free space between the decorative beauty of the historic buildings is treated like a canvas, and there’s pretty much always a blue sky for a backdrop. #Trovember
A gallery which is as impressive on the outside as the inside. The exhibitions here seem to err on the abstract and contemporary, so it might not be the favourite place of more traditional art lovers, but do take a stroll past to admire this architectural greenery even if you don’t go inside. The striking dome of the "Edificio Metrópolis" (1911), an office building at the intersection of the Calle de Alcalá and the Gran Vía. The building was designed by Jules and Raymond Février in the French "Beaux-Arts" style. Buildings in the "Beaux-Arts" style are usually symmetrical pompous buildings in natural stone. Columns, cornices, pediments, mascarons, pilasters, balustrades and monumental classical sculptures are incorporated in the façades. #Madrid #Architecture
