"The parking is a challenge. Not enough spots for all the guests. Our 2 nd day we came back from the beach at 5:30 and all the parking was taken even the 15 minute spots in front of the check in house. We had to park in an overflow area that can’t even be seen from the resort. "
"Small rooms (you’re there for the hiking/site seeing/whale watching/surfing, not to sit in your room and watch tv :P), very comfortable beds, balcony with a fine view of the ocean and the beautiful sunsets. Hotel is only staffed during the day (10am to 6 pm), so if you arrive outside those hours you’ll need to make arrangements with the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful when they’re around. In room coffee was a small espresso machine (Nespresso? Something like that), so if that’s not your thing beware. Coffee shops (three we found) all less than 5 minutes walk, but most don’t open till 8. SOL if you’re an early riser. Dining options in town are limited, make reservations as they’re all on the smallish side. Parking lot is gravel, if you’re on a motorbike like we were, bring a stand plate just to be safe. Seemed well packed, but no one likes to come out in the morning and find your bike on its side."
"We got an early check in as it’s normally not until 5. A cute boutique hotel close to all amenities. On site has a restaurant and a place to have breakfast as well. Food is great! There is also a liquor store where you can make purchases and get free ice by showing your key fob. You will receive a welcome cocktail or mocktail, 10% off food purchases during your stay and 2 free beverages ( we used ours for coffee so not sure if alcohol applies) make note there are no elevators and the rooms though comfortable have no mini fridge but a cooler instead ( that’s why the free ice) it worked fine for us. The staff was always helpful and friendly. A great patio to have a meal and quiet hours are in place from 10pm to 8am. One parking spot is included. If you need to do laundry there is one in town. A beautiful place to spend a vacation."
"Very beautiful location and the morning breakfast was good and within reasonable serving time 7-10am.
Only downside was that if your room is on the first or second floor, you will hear your upstairs neighbor footsteps.
But would definitely stay here again."
"We absolutely loved our stay here at the Blackbear Guest House. So close to the beach and the property itself was quiet, peaceful and so beautiful. We even saw some bears off the back deck."
