I recently stayed at the Greenleaf Hotel in downtown Long Beach and here's my honest take. Overall, I give it a 9/10, but let's dive into the details.
Cleanliness gets an 8/10 from me. It was really clean for the most part, but I noticed some dust in the bathroom and a bit of lint on the bed. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning.
The hotel's had some work done, which I'd also rate an 8/10. The new furniture looks great and there are lots of lighting options to set the mood right, but the floors and some of the paintwork could use more attention. It's like they rushed the job a bit, especially in the bathroom and on the floors.
Staff and service? 9/10. They're pretty much amazing, making you feel super welcome, kind of like the great service you get in India. There was just this one morning guy at check out who seemed like he couldn't care less, which was a bit off-putting.
The location is fantastic, scoring a 9/10. It's right in the heart of everything, which is super convenient. The only downsides are the hotel's outside lights aren't bright enough to make it stand out at night, and there's a bit of a dog smell when you walk past the nearby apartments.
So, why the overall 9/10? Despite the few issues, the Greenleaf Hotel offers a solid, comfortable stay with great service and an unbeatable location. Just a few tweaks here and there, and it could be even better.
