「This is a beautifully appointed shepherd's hut on the edge of a pretty and quiet village in the North Pennines. Lots of walking routes nearby and just a few miles from Appleby-in-Westmoreland. We enjoyed our stay very much though were disappointed that the internet signal was so poor. The TV would not stream smoothly so not worth having it there at the moment. 「Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business. 「The whole hotel was spotless, everyone was so kind, nothing was a problem, a special shout out to Sarah, she was always on hand, friendly and happy to help, it makes a big difference to a happy stay. Food was good and hot, room was warm and bed was fab with proper pillows, not the small hard rocks that other hotel favour! This is our second stay and it is a great base to explore the lakes from. Highly recommended. 」

「I had a wonderful overnight stay here. The room was lovely, ver quiet with beautiful views and a very comfortable bed. I did use the spa which was at extra cost but it was lovely and relaxing. I opted for the fine dining in the evening and it was outstanding. Breakfast was included and the menu had plenty of options from continental to freshly prepared hot options.The staff were very helpful and friendly- I will certainly rebut for a longer visit. 」
