Older hotel but clean and safe. Helpful staff, comfy bed. Room was a great price and the location is fantastic. Right by the tube and train station, lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
Not a 5 star hotel but gave 5 star because it was perfect for what we needed. Very clean, staff were helpful and friendly. It was so convenient to be right by the tube. Had no problem with noise.

A lovely gentleman checked us in. Very friendly and personable. We were able to borrow a hairdryer, an iron and an ironing board.

Clean and convenient
Stayed for 2 nights while visiting with friends for the weekend. Incredibly convenient location and the room was clean. I will note that it was about 27c degrees and the window in my room did not open, so it was very warm. The hotel did provide a small fan which helped slightly. Prior to arrival I saw lots of reviews about the noise from the train station, but I did not experience any issues with noise in room 108.
The rooms were tatty, noisy from traffic and water pipes the matress had metal frame exposed so had to sleep on duvet. No hand soap. Left door hanger out requesting clean towels and tea/coffee to be resupplied but didn't so asked reception who said they only clean rooms once a week. We were there for 3 nights, out from 09:00-22:00 so just wanted basics. They came on our final day and changed bed which was kind but not necessary, clean towels etc which was great.
I stayed for three weeks to visit family, and I chose the Travelodge because it was so close to them. But generally speaking the location cannot be beat, the hotel is mere steps from the underground and Balham is a wonderful base for a London visit, with loads of shops and great restaurants. The hotel caters mainly to short stays of 1-2 nights, but once I settled in things went well. Staff is available around the clock, when I had to ask for help it was given.
On the down side, there is no AC and the windows don't open, so fans were a necessity in the hot weather. Second, the rates were very cheap but I had to pay for the whole stay in advance, with no money refunded in case of cancellation. Third, I had to ask for some extra cleaning since my stay was longer than normal, but my request was granted in a timely way. I will be happy to stay there again.
This is an excellent property to stay in if you have friends and family in the area. It is clean, accessible, good facilities around the area and very close to the trains/tube.
Easy to get to Clapham Junction to get the Gatwick express but the rest is pretty basic

The room was clean and the staff were courteous. The only issue was that since the window was selaed the room felt a bit claustrophobic.
I would also suggest an addition of a small fridge in the room.
The biggest issue was that the hotel did not have any parking, but if one searches online, there are many parking spaces available, which one might book.

I had a pleasant stay at the Travelodge here in Balham. Fiyaz was an amazing receptionist and catered to all of mine and my friends needs. Thank you to Fiyaz for all his great tips and help. It’s a shame the trip was almost overshadowed by one of the cleaners who failed to knock on the bedroom door first before entering my room whilst I was undressed!
Was over priced. No iron and no hairdryer , not the best view , was told to check in @3 and was no air conditioning. Poor quality for price. Paid for 2 nights £380
