Did not sleep as room was so warm because air on did not work. We did report this and I was advised the hotel will come back to us today. Nothing so far.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share how uncomfortable our stay was. The room had no air conditioning, which in the middle of summer made it absolutely unbearable. We were sweating through the night and couldn’t get proper rest. To make things worse, the phones in the room didn’t even work, meaning we couldn’t contact staff directly in an urgent situation – a serious safety concern. When we finally did speak to someone, we weren’t offered a new room or proper resolution – just a tiny fan that did nothing but blow around hot air. For the price and reputation of this hotel, the lack of basic comfort and safety measures was shocking. It’s unacceptable not to have functioning AC or a working phone line, and the lack of care in resolving the issue was extremely disappointing. Would not recommend – especially during warmer months.

This hotel is impressive on arrival in the lobby but the rooms are dark and dated. We had a twin room and the beds were ok but not great. Staff were friendly and helpful which made up for it. We wanted somewhere cheap and close to our event and it was just for one night. Work and stay just outside of London so not too fussed. Would have been disappointed if I was booked for a special weekend.

The hotel is beautiful with super friendly staff. The only issue we had during our stay was the heatwave the air conditioning failed and we were only offered a fan which unfortunately was not enough. Would have appreciated a room switch to have been offered other than this had a great experience and would use again.

The air conditioning in my room didn’t work and the mattress was clearly quite old as it was dipped on one side and had no support. I wouldn’t say this is a 5 star hotel as it’s generally quite tired but the staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.

Would have been better, but aic-con was not working, room was very stuffy on the hottest day. And shower was pretty poor, water pressure was pretty bed and so too the controls. The property was convenient to our weekend stay.

Für einen 5Tage Aufenthalt in London, haben wir uns für dieses Hotel entschieden. Ein Doppelzimmer und ein Einzelzimmer der Kategorie Club Zimmer. Das ganze Hotel, wie auch die Zimmer sind im englischen Styl gehalten. Gemütlich gestaltete Zimmer mit viel Komfort halten, was sie versprechen. Freundliche zuvorkommende Hotelangestellte vom Empfang, Restaurant und Housekeeping. Jederzeit hilfreiche Concierge. Kein Wunsch wurde uns verwehrt. Ob morgens ein Kaffee aufs Zimmer oder ein Extrakissen. Alles wurde perfekt erledigt. Sehr gute internationale Frühstücksauswahl, tolle Restaurantküche, ein sehr gemütlicher Pub. Ein sauberer Fitnessbereich hat mich persönlich begeistert. Die stimmigen Möbel in den Hotelzimmern haben eine freundliche Patina, was uns eher freut, da man davon ausgehen kann, das dies Hotel auch genutzt wird. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die neuen Matratzen, die neue Bettwäsche und Handtücher. Wir hatten das Gefühl, das darauf besonders Wert gelegt wurde. Rundum fühlten wir uns willkommen und werden im September wieder hier einkehren.

Stayed for a comfortable couple of nights. There were a few issues. Air-conditioning was faulty. The water was off for a few hours one afternoon for maintenance. The room was not serviced. I don't know if this was deliberate or an omission.

Hotel is a short walk from the Barbican tube station. An impressive entrance lobby and while well appointed, the rooms are a little tired around the edges. The hotel would benefit from a more spacious bar area and a proper bar. The breakfast was good quality with plenty of choice and nicely situated in the adjoining Chiswell Street Dining Rooms. Throughout the stay the staff were very friendly and helpful.
