「A nuisance having to collect the key from another hotel rather than the Inn that's on the doorstep. Occupants moving about in the room above were very audible and disturbing our sleep late night. There seems no sound proofing in the floor」

「The hotel is beautiful and the staff really friendly. We tried different restaurants, all were good. The breakfast was good, everyone will find something. The gym is excellent, the pool is nice and warm, though too crowded and may be a bit small for the hotel size plus club members plus lodges. Due to the beautiful location it is complicated to get around without a car. 」

「We had a lovely night's stay at the Sugar Boat in their family room. The room was beautiful and the breakfast was fabulous! We'd definitely recommend to anyone, and will return next time we're in Helensburgh - thank you! 」

「The food was lovely. Mac and cheese meal was well presented as was the burger and fries. The beef burger was very good quality. These items were ordered from the children’s menu. Portion sizes were very generous. The breakfast choices were good too. Small cafe shops nearby for alternative breakfast fare as well as a local supermarket. Car parking is very good.」

「Overall, poor standard of accommodation for £140 per night. Cleanliness and maintenance standards were very low. Had to ask for a move of room as couldnt even open the windows in our room. 2nd room was marginally better, st least we could get some fresh air!」

「Hotel is very run down, we waited at the reception for a bit before being seen to! Hallway and stairs are in need of a good clean and paint! Very run down. Room was freezing, no heating on. Damp on windows and ceiling and that was supposed to be a refurbished room! Needless to say we didn’t stay and left straight away! Out of pocket. Light fitting in hall hanging down from ceiling (dangerous). Hallway hadn’t even been hoovered. STAY CLEAR OF THIS HOTEL!!! 」

「Room was very clean and fresh, downside a double bed, adults really need a king size regardless of what you’re paying, parking is mostly on street and easy, overall the hotel is well kept and modern.」

「Yes to both. Room very clean. Staff friendly. We have two concerns. The main one was that the lift wasn't working and none of the rooms were on the ground, or first, floor. We weren't warned of this beforehand. There were also steps outside down to get to the hotel part and up to get to the restaurant part. Also, we found the room very very hot overnight and couldn't do anything about it. Otherwise fine.」
