「Breakfast was outstanding with every possible combination and variety. Surroundings are superb and you are transformed to an era of movie stars in the 50s The staff can’t do enough and are wonderful. My only issues were the airless rooms in the extraordinary heat (they provided fans, but they didn’t really do the job and sleeping was problematic). It’s and old hotel and A/C can’t go into every room. Finally, it could do with a lick of paint and the bathrooms some fresh sealant.」

「Mooie kamer met zeer goed bed. Heel goede klimatisatie ondanks de hittegolf die week in juni. Dicht bij strand. Heel aangenaam als wind uit west tot noord kwam. Niet te doen als hij uit het land kwam. Ver boven de dertig dan en bleef heet tot 's avonds laat. Goed en lekker ontbijt met veel keuze. Heel verzorgd restaurant.」

「Villa Odette seems to be the functional part of La Closerie Residence in Deauville. Not necessarily so easy to find. Hotel location is good. There is an extensive spa operation. Plus underground parking for a fee. Hotel foyer is glamorous. My room (in less glamorous Villa Odette) was clean, comfortable, but small with no a/c (I had to ask at reception for a fan). But with kettle/coffee making kit etc and it had a lovely view out over nice lawns. Bathroom, however, was small and shower very weak....

「Staff were wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast - well organised and filling. Something for everyone. Room was clean but a bit tired. It needs a renovation. Location - perfect! Quiet street 5 minutes from ocean promenade and handy to restaurants. Love the bar area - comfortable and elegant for a morning coffee or evening cocktail.」

「Superb hotel in every way. It is on the expensive side, especially for some of the wine, but everything is of the highest of standards. Excellent golf course, played 2 rounds, greens were as good as it gets, very true and good speed. I was lucky as they had to move to temporary greens for 2 days while they treated them...I wouldn't have been pleased if I hadn't been able to play having booked the hotel for the golf! Our room (#419) was very nice but we had to ask for a fan as it did become...
