Wir verbrachten 6 Tage im Hotel Santa Catalina. Der Empfang war sehr stilvoll mit Gepäck- und Parkservice sowie freundlichem Check-in mit Begrüßungssekt. Fragen zu Hotel, Spa und Restaurants wurden professionell beantwortet. Unsere Junior-Suite Premium (228) lag über dem Hoteleingang mit Blick in den Park und zum Hafen. Die koloniale Einrichtung ist schön, das Zimmer jedoch recht klein, da das nur durch Holzlamellen abgetrennte Bad viel Platz einnimmt. Im Wohnbereich gab es nur einen Sessel, obwohl Platz für einen zweiten wäre. Das Bett ist groß, die Matratzen jedoch sehr hart. Die historischen Fenster sind undicht – bei Sturm zog der Wind deutlich hinein. Der Service wirkte teilweise unkoordiniert: Als Wassergläser fehlten, brauchte es mehrere Telefonate bis Ersatz kam, einmal wurde sogar einfach aufgelegt. Auch die Zimmerreinigung war nur vollständig mit Trinkgeld. Ohne dieses wurden lediglich Bett gemacht, Handtücher gewechselt und Müll geleert – Boden wischen, Flaschen entsorgen oder Seife nachfüllen fiel aus. Für ein 5-Sterne-Hotel enttäuschend. Das Frühstück überzeugte mit Auswahl, Qualität und freundlichem Personal. Bei voller Belegung kam es jedoch zu Wartezeiten beim Platzieren sowie auf Eierspeisen und Kaffee. Das historische Ambiente und die Dachterrasse sind sehr schön. Der Spa-Bereich enttäuscht jedoch: zugiger, nach oben offener Poolbereich, undichte Sauna-Cubes und abgenutzte, wenig private Duschen – insgesamt keine 5-Sterne-Qualität.

The deluxe junior suite we stayed in wasn’t very well designed. The dividing wall which include the TV made the room feel quite cramped. We were allocated a room which had no sunshine at all on our terrace. Service overall seemed a bit indifferent. The staff struggled to cope at breakfast with delivery of coffee taking ages. The rooftop pool is an oasis - quiet and sunnier than the main pool with plenty of beds. The main pool is busy and largely in shade by mid afternoon in winter! It was colder than we were expecting so do take warm clothes for those chilly evenings in January!

We stay here for one / two nights every year. Unfortunately this years room wasn’t great. (232) there was a smell when we entered of drains. The room ac also didn’t work properly so the smell lingered. The basin drain leaked into the basin drawer, which ruined my toiletry bag and toothbrush. The shower was the main problem, the drain didn’t work and so the water flooded the room. We needed to use the towels to dry the floor which was super dangerous and slippery. All in all not a great stay, which was really disappointing. Normally this is a good hotel, however for the premium price of the rooms we may look elsewhere next time and try a different brand.

The hotel itself is a old-fashioned gem. We stayed in junior suite facing the front of the Hotel. Very quiet, airconditioning was a bit off and the air in the room kind of dusty. One of the best parts were the 3 swimming pools. And the breakfast, one the best ever!

We stayed for 4 nights in November 2025. The location was away from the busy strip, which was nice. The room was comfortable but definitely not worthy of a 4-star rating. The on-property restaurant was buffet-style with no options for à la carte. The bar had entertainment at night that was subpar and reminded us of karaoke night. The shower leaked on to the bathroom floor which was also annoying.

Zimmer 112 im Seitenbereich relativ laut, da angrenzen ein Spielplatz vorhanden ist. Leider hatten wir nicht regelmäßig Wasser für unsere Kaffeemaschinen auf dem Zimmer bekommen. Bei Ankunft wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass der Ruftop Pool für uns nicht erlaubt ist, nur für Suiten-Gäste .. im Restaurant abends war fast nie ein Platz zu bekommen .. wir mussten auswärts essen .. insgesamt also kein 5-Sterne-Service
