"Price was reasonable. Good location. Good parking. It definitely was designed to cater to the college students and young adults. Not so much for older adults. Bare minimum in the room, no coffee maker or reading chair and bedside tables inadequate. No ice bucket or water glasses. For such a newer hotel, it already looked worn. Breakfast was standard. No soap in shower dispenser. Glad we were only staying one night."
Ramada Hotel & Convention Center by Wyndham Topeka Downtown
6/10 Okay
"You can tell that this hotel was probably amazing back in the day! But as for today, the hotel is dated. The main area really is neat, but immediately shows it's age when you realize how much of it is no longer used or maintained (restaurants, ballrooms, elevators, etc). You have to walk past the main atrium area to walk down two long hallways passing elevators that do not work and closed off ballroom/convention areas to get to the one singular elevator that does work but it is small and is the only one in use. It felt like being in the backrooms. This did not seem like a one time issue. They had sturdy signs showcasing the route to the small elevator acting like this is a long term or permanent issue. Once on our floor (seventh), the hallway to our room was hot and our room had trouble cooling during our stay. The room was nothing crazy to talk about. The bed was not super comfy - lumpy. Breakfast was in the main atrium area - hot and cold food was offered. It was just fine. The staff was kind and helpful. It would be super cool to see this place get a nice renovation or face lift! The bones are great, it just needs a lot of love. At the moment, it is okay for one night, but I wouldn't stay longer than that in its current state."
"I have 5 recommendations:
1) upgrade coffee
2) better pillows
3) give Ted (Front Desk) a raise
4) make Ted a manager
5) erect a statue to Ted.
I’ll explain 3-5, if you’d like.

"There was no hot water for me to take a bath and the bath had rust all around the outlet. Coffee machine also didn’t work . Front desk were very polite and apologized"
"I always stay at this hotel when visiting Lawrence for any KU related events. It's right off of the K-10 highway headed in from the KC metro area, and easy to get to (without getting on a toll road) from the KC airport. Being on 23rd St gives you easy access to anything you want to go to in Lawrence. Rooms are comfortable. They put out a good complementary breakfast each day (the weekends in particular have good breakfast food). There is a nice outdoor patio area that has a firepit going each night that I have sat around several times. Families with kids seem to like the pool. There is a small fitness gym, but it doesn't have much in it besides a treadmill and some free weights. The hotel did charge me an extra $25 "amenities fee" this time when I checked in that I do not believe I had been charged before. I am not sure what that was for."
