Took the boat from Interlaken Ost to Brienz. Beautiful scenery; comfortable and fast round trip boat ride. Took a bus to the Ballenberg outdoor folk museum nearby. This had dozens of historic, mostly farm dwellings from all over Switzerland, plus cows with bells, pigs, turkeys, etc. Enjoyed it a lot for 2-3 hours. Can walk through most of the buildings. Ballenberg, the boat, and the bus were all free w Swiss Travel Pass. We stopped at Iseltwald on Lake Brienz for a drink on the way back, had a drink, and caught the last boat of the day back to Interlaken. Nice day trip!

On our trip to Switzerland, our hostess in Interlaken told us to take our Mum to Hotel Giessbach for a meal. She told us that it is situated above Lake Brienz and can be reached via train. We had never been to any such place before so we thought it would be great idea. . By the time it was lunch time, Mum was tired and wasnt very keen to travel further. So we had some awesome Chinese food at a nearby restaurant and dropped her back to our B&B. . In the evening, my brother and I went on a cruise on Lake Brienz. And while on the cruise, we crossed this super gorgeous Giessbach waterfall which tumbles into Lake Brienz. Above the falls was the hotel where we had planned to go earlier. . That color of water and those trees surely had me. #Switzerland
