"The inn could use some freshening up. Room carpet was stained in multiple places, for example, and the building badly needs to be repainted on the outside. Guests should be told when booking that their room will be on the third floor in case stairs are an issue. It’s a charming, historic building in a great location but it looks a little rundown. "
"I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. I paid over $500 for two rooms for two days, expecting at minimum a clean and safe place to stay. I checked in around 7 PM, grabbed my keys, and went straight to work without even looking at the room. When I returned around 5:30 AM, I discovered the room had bed bugs.
This is completely unacceptable. Cleanliness and pest control should be the most basic responsibility of any hotel. To make matters worse, after bringing this serious issue to management, they refused to give me a refund. Charging guests premium prices for infested rooms and then refusing to make it right is terrible business practice.
I would strongly warn anyone considering staying here to think twice. Save your money, save yourself the stress, and stay somewhere that actually cares about cleanliness and customer service."
"I would strongly advise against staying at this property.
Upon arrival around 6:00 PM, we were told to wait until 6:30 PM for our room due to delays. During this time, we used the lobby restroom, which had no toilet paper - only a tissue box -and the situation was handled dismissively.
While waiting, we witnessed several concerning situations. One guest had been locked out of her room overnight due to a faulty key and had to stay in the lobby from 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM because no maintenance staff were available. Another guest’s clothes were stuck in a broken dryer with no help offered. Others mentioned having to buy their own toiletries as none were provided.
At 6:30 PM, we were then told there was no room available, despite earlier assurances. The only option offered was a room that was not properly maintained. A housekeeper confirmed it was dirty and not ready.
The front desk employee was unprofessional, dismissive, and unhelpful, showing no empathy. The atmosphere felt uncomfortable and at times intimidating.
As two women traveling, we did not feel safe due to people lingering in the lobby and the lack of security.
As we left, police arrived regarding a serious incident at a nearby property owned by the same company involving an unattended child and no staff present, raising further safety concerns.
The hotel was visibly unclean and poorly maintained. We accepted a refund and left. I would not recommend staying here."
