「Excellent stay at the lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean. Room very comfortable and warm. Good amenities. The staff were outstanding very polite courteous welcoming and friendly. Stayed for evening meal and it was excellent one of the best meals I have had at a restaurant. Breakfast excellent freshly cooked to order. Beautiful scenery in a peaceful setting If you are visiting Penrith area this is the place to stay 」

「lovely pub owned by the Lowther Estate. Stayed 3 nights while attending a wedding at Askham hall 6 minutes drive away. Food was well above usual pub food, and sourced from the Estate. Recently refubished. Walls a little thin and you could hear voices from room next door. Also no lift and original worn stone stairs to bedrooms, so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Staff helpful. by the second day when they realised I liked fresh milk for my tea in the bedroom, they put a fresh...
