The COVID-19 pandemic has led to major changes to the way we travel. If you plan to visit La Vera, the following tips will help you navigate the "new normal:"

• Before you lock in a flight, check if any travel restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Get the latest updates by checking government travel advisories.
• You're required to wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. Be prepared to lower your mask for ID verification when asked.
• To reduce the potential of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer.
• TSA is now allowing passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will need to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• To reduce handling during screening, put items such as your wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
