Rooms are great and to be in nature is perfect. Great location. My only complaint is the included meals are buffet and the food overall is mediocre. Very bland. And the coffee is terrible. But the stay and access to trails were perfect.

Since I am interested in plants, birds and animals the entire property delighted me and I spent a lot of time trekking. The property is beautiful and there is so much to do and see.

The chalets are situated in rainforest which provides excellent birdwatching, the reason for our visit. However, the chalets were disappointing. The first chalet we were given had no running water and when we asked the reception staff for an alternative chalet, they said we couldn't have one! I asked to speak to the duty manager who moved us to another chalet straight away. However, they appear to have taken our desire for a shower rather literally as when it rained in the night we got soaked in our beds as the rain came through the roof.

Not up to expectations
Stayed for 3 nights, we needed a base to explore the national park. Located right at the entrance of the park the resort is perfect to enjoy nature. On the negative side, the bungalows are dark, smell like “old resort”, there is no remote control for the AC (split unit) and it’s either freezing with the AC on or sweating with it off. I do understand you are “in the nature” but that’s no reason to be negligent of the wooden walls of the bungalows: have big spaces between the planks, insects coming in through these cracks, spiderwebs in the space between the window and the insect web. If I were to go to Taman Negara again, i’d Try the motels/bed&breakfast across the river. They cost a fraction of the price of Mutiara and were very animated , young westerner groups mingling with the locals. Food at Mutiara: the buffet ( we had half board) was way below expectations :(

Canopy Walkway Closed
The canopy walkway has been closed since November 2018 - potential guests should be made aware of this. We weren't even informed when we checked in with the park officials at the desk on the resort grounds - we only found out once we walked the 2 km (which we would have done anyway) to find the closure signs. The resort is older and needs a little TLC.

Great for exploring the national park
This is the only accommodation within the National Park, and the money paid goes towards the park and local people. The beds were comfortable, with air conditioning, ceiling fan and fridge, although we requested 3 beds so sacrificed the space for the 'dining and living' area. There were chairs and a table on the balcony, but don't take your tea cup out there because you'll get mugged by the macaque monkeys. The staff were friendly and helpful, able to answer questions on the park and local area, book trips, and transfer our bags to and from our cabin (which was quite a long walk fromt he reception and restaurant).. Breakfast was good with a wide selection (although not the best we had in Malaysia), but I'd suggest crossing the river to one of the floating restaurants for lunch or dinner.

Very very disappointed.
We were very disappointed with the accommodation co sidering that Mutiara is supposed to be a prestige hotel chain. Very dated, smelled musty and the shower and air conditioning unit were very mouldy. We mentioned this to reception several times but nothing was done. We have contacted the hotel chain but to no avail.

Pleasant stay at Mutiara Taman Negara
The place is quite nice inside the actual Taman Negara, the chalets are built in a nice style and they fit well with the surrounding (i.e. jungle). The first night we found that we were sharing the chalet with some type of jungle animal (jungle rat?) that lived in the ceiling, but given the chalets are built with wood and rattan and are located in, well, the jungle, this can happen. At midnight we called the reception desk and in no time were given another chalet, where this issue did not exist. The restaurant was good and for the location not too expensive. We certainly enjoyed out stay there.

The hotel is just at the edge of the jungle and the national park. Beautiful surrounding. The room was not very clean, however, also not dirty. But tidiness could be definitely be improved. Overall, it is a hotel to be recommended, except if you are afraid of insects, as they might come into your house (there are holes in the walls, where they can come in). No wifi in the rooms and very bad wifi connection only in the restaurant. Restaurant: overpriced and mainly western food. Rather go to the other side of the river to the 'floating restaurants' for a dinner. Mini market of the resort is really overpriced.

Jungle Fever
Wonderful to get out of KL and see some nature! Mutiara has a beautiful location and setting, and the staff are very welcoming and eager to please. Our chalet was clean and comfortable (though the A/C struggled to keep up with the heat), and the service was great. Excellent hiking on the canopy walk, minimal wildlife (I’d stay away from all the humans too!), but plenty of sounds and monkeys. Did the river boat ride to the swimming hole, and that was incredible: breeze to cool off, outstanding scenery, and a refreshing dip in the river, don’t miss it! Thank you Sati (manager) for your kindness and hospitality, please don’t forget to me the video! :-)

Perfect stay.
Amaizing place in the middle of the Jungle. Nice property, helpful staff, good accomodation (Chalet) and excellent breakfast talking about quantity, variety and quality. If you want to spent a couple of days in the middle of the Jungle, Mutiara Resort will be a perfect option for your stay. I travelled with my family, two adults and two kids, the Chalet is a good option for a party of four.

Ideally located for the rain forest
I was worried that the hotel and food would not be very nice but this was not the case. It's not 5 star luxury but very good accommodation, well maintained and clean. I really enjoyed the food and there was a good choice of local and western food. Beer and wine was expensive but no more than in KL. The excursions are amazing and if you book several together they will do you a discount. We paid extra for a private guide and it was well worth the money.

Great location but overpriced and tired.
I'm going to start this review with acknowledging that this hotel is on the edge of the jungle and a long way from anywhere else (although there is a good road connection which you don't realise when arriving by boat). In terms of positives, the location is great - right on the edge of the jungle, food was good and price higher than most but reasonable given location. Cleanliness was good. Negatives, we stayed in a chalet suite which was not cheap, and feel the marketing slightly sells it as more luxury than it is. For example, it states a rainfall shower but it was the oldest shower I have ever seen and with only occasional hot water. The whole suite was very tired and found it very dark (understand windows need to be kept small for heat but add some more lights!). We did not use the balcony as the chairs were dirty and very uncomfortable and the door to it was broken.

Really enjoyed the stay.
Excellent resort with various fun activities. Vey good food at the restaurant. Very goid pickup arrangements from Kualalumpur. Helpful staff. The resort is on very wide area and no room service in resort. I left from resort to Cameron Highland and mini bus arranged by resort is below standard. Resort should have better phone communication system between rooms and front desk.

Overall a very good stay at Mutiara Taman Negara. The walk through the jungle was great and the river boat cruise to the native village was interesting. Will definitely recommend this hotel and tropical jungle visit highly.

Superior location
Stayed in biggest bungalow offered #25. A nice accommodation, but showers only lukewarm. Many gaps in doors allowed mosquito. Kitchenette was adequate, but big problem with ants. I understand it is jungle, but caulking windows and sealing gaps can make it better. Overall, the price did not equal value. Breakfast buffet was nothing spectacular but menu foods were pleasant. Prices a bit expensive.

Great hotel close to the jungle.
From the first moment we have had a very good impression about the hotel. All members of the staff - from the receptionists until the kitchen staff - were really very kind, polite, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was also perfect. The room was very comfortable with a very nice atmosphere. We can speak only in superlatives about your hotel and we definitely will recommend to everyone. And thank you for this really nice staying.

Loved staying in the national park! Rooms were lovely but beds were very hard. Monkeys would play right outside our rooms but didn't hear them at night. Only option for food was the restaurant in the hotel, wasn't amazing but it did the job.

Location in the National Park was terrific
We were a family of 3 adults and stayed for 3 nights. The restaurant food was excellent and the staff were friendly. There were enough activities with tours and walking trails to keep us busy but still allowing time for relaxation. The national park walks were great - all on well maintained boardwalks and the suspension bridge in the tree tops was world class.

Nice stay in the forest
Our stay was a lovely getaway. We had a very helpful guide as well. Breakfast was really good and there were a lot of options to choose from. I would say that the wifi is only available in the dining area, and it's not that great. Maybe because it's in the forest?! The grounds itself also need some upkeep. There were piles of dead and rotting leaves on the roofs of the chalets, and the grass definitely needed to cut.

Perfect retreat within taman negara
Hotel staff were amazing. Local food was delicious. We were given a free upgrade without asking which was a nice surprise. The hotel is on the other side of the river so you will cross a small river by boat. Car parking facility is secure. All hiking trails start within the compound of the hotel and the national parks office/counter is also within the compound of the hotel. Food was reasonably priced. We also took a private boat ride on the rapids which was organised by the hotel.

Good hotel and friendly staff
We came with big families with young children. This place is very comfortable and peace compare to the other places in taman Negara. The staff are very friendly and very patience to organize all the rooms to us. They offer us the best service they can provide. The tour guide are also very good to make sure that we all have all the needs and experience that we should have in taman Negara. It's worth for money and experience.

Back to Nature - Refreshing
Worth taking a day or two break with such a refreshing, peace and quiet place. listening to birds chirping, cricket sound and fresh cool air deep in the forest. Back to memory lane. Take our children and let them feel what we had enjoyed during our childhood lives....river, trees, fishes, smell of the forest, boat ride, jungle trekking and canopy walk.
