Relaxing and fun
I had a nice time staying here - the beds and facilities were great and the staff was even better. I understand why other reviews mentioned the noise, but I had no trouble with noise / sleeping (on the first floor) - friends on the second floor were a little less lucky. Overall I had fun and had a great time - I'd start here again.

Reggae Mansion is suited for persons who prefer an informal atmosphere. And don't feel offended by having to place a deposit for your towel(s). The hostel atmosphere is underlined by the fact that you don't have an en suite bathroom. After a shower you have to go and ask to get dry towels. No place in the room for wet ones! The staff is very friendly and helpful. No possibility for having breakfast; the cafe/cantine opens at lunchtime.

Beautiful Colonial Mansion
We stayed 1 night. Overall is a comfortable stay. We book the Superior Twin Bed room located at 1st floor of the center wing. Room was clean and large with shared bathrooms. Due to the wooden colonial flooring, do expect slight sound of foot step walking along the corridor middle of the night. We do not experience any noise nuisance from the party at the roof top, probably due to the room located at the 1st floor. No towels and vanity set provided in the room. Check in was pleasant.

Really perfect for a short stay in KL city centre, get to know fellow travellers quickly! Feel the international vibe of Kuala Lumpur and the many different cultures - a melting pot of the east and the west in the heart of south-east-asia

Great rooftop bar and location
Really cool rooftop bar with cheaper drinks than the local spots. They give you free dinner too, it's not amazing but does the job. Fun hostel!

My stay was good, however if you are traveling alone... be aware to go out by yourself... had a bad experience on my return from twin towers but nothing happen... wifi inside of the rooms poor...

Good party hostel, bad WiFi and bathrooms
It’s a party hostel. I wouldn't have booked it if I had known. When you check-in, the paper you sign states that it's a party hostel and you can't leave bad reviews because of that. If you like party hotels, you'll love this place. It's clean, in great condition, has a rooftop bar and includes dinner (you can buy breakfast). Dorm beds are large with a curtain to block out light and for privacy, although the mattress is quite thin. Bring your own padlock for the large locker under the bed. However, if you want to actually get a good night's sleep, book somewhere else; you can hear the rooftop bar in the 2nd floor dorms until 3am. Fair enough, it's a party hostel. Apart from the noise which is to be expected in this kind of place, there are other negatives: * Noise for a long time very early in the morning that sounded like people moving furniture. * I booked a 4-bed dorm but was put in a 6-bed dorm. * WiFi was very bad: no signal in the dorm and even with full signal in the lobby in the evening, it was so slow as to be unusable. * The showers are very small with the shower almost over the toilet so the toilet paper was wet. * There were only 2 male showers for the whole floor of 3 or 4 dorm rooms. I checked out early and found another place where I could actually sleep. Again, if you're looking for a party hostel, it's probably great but if you want to sleep well and want to be able to actually use WiFi, consider other options.

Reggae mansion was great for me and my girlfriend. We enjoy our stay so much especially the rooftop bar. The staff is a bit rude, but the free dinner is a good idea Def will come back

Enjoyable location, with easy access to all levels of transport to check out KL from all avanues. Not far from the major bar and club scene, within walking distance for those brave enough to Changkat bar area. The pods provided in the dorms are awesome, cleaned daily and the bathroom facilities highly up to scratch for a dorm. Definitely would go back again when I visit KL, just so easy to get too and find. Easy to get in and out, no worries about security as was all pretty tight so had no issue to leave my gear behind in the lockers etc even when away for a few days unplanned. With the bar above sometimes I just went to bed in the afternoon to relax with the air-con then woke up to some enjoyable music and other ex-pats to socialise with. If you are someone after quiet, I wouldn't recommend a top dorm room as abit noisy with the club above beating away til 3am but for me it didn't fuss me at all.

Good hostel only if you are looking to party.
Check in was simple. The place feels very secure. To get into the guest area, you need to punch in a code. To get into each hallway of rooms, you need a different code. To get into the room itself, you need a key. A lot to remember, but feels secure. Wifi password changed daily, only told if asked, and was "unreliable" at best. Check in was alright. They tell you about the free dinner being served. You then go in to get the free dinner, and you're told you need a voucher from the front desk, which they didn't provide or inform you of when they told you about the dinner in the first place. The dinner was also a few french fries, noodles, and a single tiny piece of chicken. The other option was pasta with fries. They also don't tell you if you need an outlet converter, you are to use theirs, so you need to go back and ask for one from them. The bunks were a good size, so that was a positive. I'd suggest choosing a bottom one if you can, the ladders to the top seemed to be difficult for people to use. However, the room I was in smelled very musty, there were large cracks in the walls and it looked like there was mold. The air conditioners didn't work very well in the rooms either, I found. This is a party hostel, there is a rooftop bar. If you don't intend on partying it can be difficult to sleep, when you can feel the bass in your bunk even with ear plugs in. If you want to drink and socialize though, the rooftop bar has an amazing view, and well priced drinks for the area

Good interior and good position to travel.
It was very great experience to me, 2day stay in there, i was there for ready for besiness, and so it's very comfort to me all everything. Staff is so kind and cool! Roundary sevice is very good, cheap and convenient. If i have to go kl citi i will stay there again. Thanks you.

Kuala Lumpur for a day
We choose the hostal due to its fun enviroment, lovation and one day tour. The Mansion is beautiful, lots of security and very friendly staff. They offer a free meal instead of breakfast in the reataurant which is very good and worked out great for us. Their tour was exelent for one day and the guide was knowledgable and very funny. Great choice of activities and lots of fun after a day of sightseeing.

Nice place for a 3 night stay in KL. Communal areas were good for meeting other travellers. Enjoyed the privacy of the pod beds in the dorm room. Dinner was basic but good for a free meal. The music from the bar can be heard in the room into late hours of the night - I didn't really have a problem with it but light sleepers might want to bring some ear plugs.

Great stay in KL
My friend and I booked a twin bed room with a shared bathroom. The room was really nice with aircon although it did get a little chilly! However they do provide blankets. Our room had a tv and Windows although some rooms don't have windows. Sharing a bathroom was never a problem even through the hostel was quite full. They also provide you with towels. After a few days we switched to a 6 bed dorm room. The bunk compartments are surprisingly private with a curtain and personal light and power socket. There are also lockers to put your valuables in. Generally the hostel is very secure with cctv everywhere and codes to get through into different parts of the hostel. As well as locks on the dorm rooms. The wifi works well and worked in both my dorm room and the twin room we stayed in. However the computers were terrible and none of them worked when I was there. They also give you a free dinner, not breakfast, which is pretty terrible. It's either fried noddles, fried rice or pasta only great to fill a hole! The breakfast is over priced and rubbish. It's better to go down the road to a great coffee place called Lokl to get a far far more superior breakfast for your money. The rooftop bar is a great place to meet other backpackers and socialise! Overall a great place to stay in KL!!

For those who value partying over comfort.
I was on the upper bed which I generally don't mind - but one thing was that the ladder was too unsafe. If I was drunk / not strong enough I could have easily split my head open. The rooftop bar was nice, drinks were fairly priced and they even had sheesha. The bar soon very much turned into a club which even locals sneak in for (which shows that the parties are good). Staff is helpful, nothing family / personalised, very businessy though. But all in all had a good time.

One of the best hostels of SE Asia
Highly recommend this hostel, very clean by Malaysia standards and a good layout of capsule style beds. Many things to do in the hotel as there is restaurant and bar and rooftop bar with great views. Breakfast was just toast and jam but I would definitely stay here again.

Facilities are of good quality. It is only a few blocks away from Chinatown where you can buy lots of stuff for a very good price (if you bargain) and train stations; also close to puduraya station which I reckon is a good point of reference if you are coming from or going to a distant place by bus (plenty of connections as well). Only thing I can complain is that I found staff quite rude and not too friendly. I think that as a backpackers hostel they should get used to treat people more tenderly. I reckon it is about culture because people in general are quite rude and they've got no patience at all. Overall my stay was nice and I would reccomend the hostel to any backpacker.

Ett fantastiskt hostel där man mötte massa vänner, min säng var full med mörka långa hårstrån tyvärr så jag vet inte hur städat det var.. lite äckligt med det funkade. Och gäster/personal snodde även på hotellet, glömde väskan utanför mitt rum i någon timme och när jag märkte det var alla mina pengar borta. Mindre bra.

駅から歩いて行ける距離。チャイナタウンにも近いので外食しやすい。屋上にはクラブがあったが平日だったため人が全然いなかった。同じ部屋の人と仲良くなって、食事にでかけたり屋上行ったりと楽しかった！！ただ、シャワーとトイレには仕切りがないので便座が濡れていることがあるので注意。全体的には、とても良かった！！

・朝食付きということでしたが、コーンフレーク、パン、牛乳、スイカが毎日提供される形です。 ・８人同じ部屋になるので、状況によっては非常に狭いです。僕は日に日に人が減っていったので楽でしたが、８人ですし詰めになった時は、薄暗いのでかなり警戒しないと厳しいです。

여자 혼자 여행이어서 혼성 도미룸에 걱정이 많았는데 24침대룸은 칸막이가 잘 되어 있었고, 전혀 위험하지 않았다. 청결도 괜찮았지만 관리는 그저그랬다. 방은 지저분했다. 그밖에 시설, 위치, 친절은 좋은 편이다. 다시 간다면 또 갈것이다
