Have stayed in capital hotel so many times and it was a pretty good hotel overall. But this visit makes me so upset. The stay was fine. When we were checking out, the housekeeper says there were a couple of make up stains on one of the towels. She tried to wash it with the shower gel that was left over and said it could not be washed off. We were told to pay 50 ringgit for the damage!! Or we can go to the laundromat nearby to have the towel cleaned at our own expense. When has it been the guest’s responsibility to wash the linen of the room?! Nevertheless I went to the supermarket, bought a bottle of normal laundry detergent and went up to the room to wash the towel. The so called unwashable make up stains were totally cleaned within 3 minutes of hand washing with a normal detergent. Hotel management, please look into this practice of asking your guests to wash the linen of the room. That’s YOUR responsibility!!!

Excellent!
It was close to Jesselton point where we went for diving and very close to the mall. It was just very easy to get around. The staff were nice and helped us with so many things. The room was excellent for this price. If I am going to Sabah again, I will definitely stay here.

Honestly I couldn’t think of a place I’d rather stay in Kota Kinabalu. This was our second time there, this time in the King size bed room. Very clean, great air-con, nice showers, perfect location. Inexpensive. Highly recommended.

Amazing hotel in the centre of town and near shopping malls and eateries. Service was good and very value for money. Only issues was that after 4 nights of staying, the sheets are not changed so maybe that could be improved.

Nice hotel in the middle of everything
Cozy hotel located in between everything you ever need. Shopping Malls, night markets, morning markets, restaurants, bars and cafes. Walking distance to Jesselton pier as well to catch a boat ride to Gaya island for half day recursions. Highly recommended.

Choose Hotel Capital to Aviod Regrets
Have usually stay in Hotel Capital for the past 3 years whenever i visit KK for business. I took my chances and have tried a few others but end up regretting why hadn’t I just stick to Capital in the first place! It is truly a value for money hotel or the location and quality. I can’t pick on anything to say bad about it for the price it charges. You will be amazed by the furnishings and cleanliness when u step into the hotel. It is a non smoking hotel and they take smoking issue very seriously , guest will have to pay 200 for cleaning if the room was found to have after smoking tabacco smell, am a smoker myself but still, I fully support this rule as the rooms are so much more comfortable to stay in Without any smoking smell from previous guest. Will definitely choose this hotel again for many years to come.

Simple, clean hotel in a close location to jesselton point and handicraft market. We were not given instruction for Wi-Fi, which left us confused for a little while. Also the list of 'damage charges' for items in the room is just uncomfortable.

The hotel room is clean and tidy. Check-in and check-out was fast and efficient. The location for the hotel was excellent, close to the city centre and shopping areas. Plenty of food places nearby. Highly recommended for budget and family travellers. However, the WiFi service within the hotel room would need improvements. Not very conducive for business travellers. I found that the WiFi signal was weak within the room and the Internet speed was rather slow. Was unable to check my emails at night as the connection was weak and slow. Overall, the hotel is rather okay with a very clean room for short stays.

Superb hotel in the heart of Kota Kinabalu
Hotel Capital is located centrally in the heart of Kota Kinabalu. The price is very reasonable despite the location, the staff are very friendly and attentive, and most importantly the rooms are very comfortable. I would recommend anyone coming to KK to stay here either for business or leisure.

Definately a hotel worth staying in this area.
The room is expected to be quite run down when I reached the hotel entrance, as it has an old looking tradition look. But when I got first got out from the lift I was impressed by the room floor lift foyer area. And when i went into the room immediately I wanted to stay here for my whole 3 nights stay in KK, and will definitely come back here for my next trip! (Initially plan was to stay one night and switch hotel) The room is clean, spacious, high ceiling ,well decorated, and the bed is comfortable. Only set back is the poor internet connection, it drop off every 30sec making it not useful at all. Overall no regrets staying in Capital! Good job Capital !

Strongly recomended hotel in KK
This hotel is beyond our expectation. The price is fair, but room is clean and bed is comfy. The location is convenient too (close to the shopping center, restaurants). You can see the sea from your room (although only partial view)

Hotel is clean. Both bedroom and bath area. Location near to almost everything. Sunday market and eating places etc. The people who manage the front desk and the doormen are friendly and helpful except for one receptionist from the front desk who is very unhelpful and lazy. I checked out on the 16/4/2017 in the noon. She refused to print an invoice for me. Only after wasting my time on insisting, then she printed one for me. If she carried on to make everything difficult for me, I would have missed my flight to Tawau.

My stay was quite comfortable. Nothing fancy but nothing to complain about either. The location of the hotel is good close to the harbour. Hotel looks to be newly renovated so the room was fresh. I would have liked to have breakfast at the hotel which they don't serve. Luckily there are few options within couple of blocks.
