Built in 1864, Calcutta General Post office (or GPO as it is popularly known), is a landmark in central business district, with its high doomed roof over a huge rotunda at the corner and a set of Ionian-Corinthian pillars along the corridors on adjacent sides. Along the east wall, almost at the north end of the GPO is a brass line which marks off the site of the old fort destroyed by Nawab Siraj-ud-daula when he attacked the British settlement in 1756. #stunningstructures

The room was cleaned very last minute and it was missing some items, did not feel like a completely ready room. Also the upkeep is subpar comparing with other Taj experience.
