Great hotel in a fantastic location, the steam geysers are going 24/7 which makes for a beautiful view. Hotel itself has tons to do from the Onsen to Games room. The included breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent.
The Onsen is quite large with and outdoor section too. The provided pyjamas are so comfy wish I would’ve purchased some.
the onsen was seriously the highlight of the trip, and the staff was extremely helpful in helping me when I left something in my previous hotel, even though they didn't have to. The buffet breakfast and dinner was huge and the beds were really comfortable. I drove here so no idea on public transportation but parking was easy and I highly recommend!
The buffet dinner and breakfast were very good. The carpark was quite full and you may need to park very far away from hotel main entrance. They are still using traditional cylinder lock with key which made people feeling not safe.
The hotel is relatively old and the cleanliness is average, but the hot spring is large enough.

Pleasant stay overall. Buffet dinner and breakfast food is average, room is very dated. Onsen is nice, especially the private onsen and bedrock bath (with very reasonable fee).
Breakfast and dinner buffet was yummy. Loved the sulphur smell of Onsen water and volcanic mud all over the body. Also we were lucky to have seen the traditional taiko performance that’s only on every now and then. Absolutely stunning. There’s also free local sake tasting, a bonus. Lawson just across the road for your convenience.
A very classy establishment. What you would expect from a high international standard hotel. The pictures are for the most part a good representation. I would definitely recommend a few nights there.
Overall a very good stay for family travellers. Huge hot spring area, buffet and proximity to the national park for a reasonable premium.
The immediate surrounding area is walkable. To reach Kirishima Jingu and trail heads inside NP you need a car.
Bus routes run only 2-4 times a day. If you have to take a bus watch out for departure times.
The private onsen bath is full of mould, feel uncomfortable to get inside.

Buffet is the best and the onsen is disappointing
The buffet is the grand hotel quality and that surprising me for an onsen hotel.
The onsen bath is my most expecting in this hotel, but so disappointing that half of bath area (outdoor pool) is closed due to construction work.
And it is so late to inform me the maintenance of outdoor onsen, making me impossible to have enough time to change to other hotel.

Our rooms were located on a non-smoking floor but next is next to a room for smokers. My room smell of stale smoke and corridor outside our rooms smell mushy.
