More to be done to reflect what you are paying
Due to my flight being missed i booked this hotel and upon arriving in the hotel , the receptionist did not explain much i had to prompts him !! upon arriving in my room they were cockroaches on the wall living their best life . Housekeeping was excellent however breakfast selection was not vast , very limited and there was a call called Joel K and he worked in the restaurant He was the worst it’s like he was forced to work , never greeted customer instead give me a look like i was dirt . However the older server who use to make me Hot chocolate was amazing . This is hotel isn’t 5 or 4 * however i would say a good 3* and the location is also central ish . It’s expensive for what you get but then remember you are in Congo !

We arrived and there were no rooms. Reception said they had sent a cancellation via Expedia, but we never received it (and me getting asked to review the stay shows it was not sent). They offered little to no help to find another hotel (and it was 11pm!). Gladly the receptionist of the hotel next door helped us by phoning other hotels in the area.

Selton is a very clean hotel, super cleaning services and rooms. However, the welcome staff provide confusions information, you pay double room but items in the room not aligned accordingly, you ask for a service one staff refuses another serves you kindly! This is crazy. The hotel would be even better if they thought of gym and pool.

Great Stay - Apr 3 - Apr 10 2023.
Great experience, wonderful people. Breakfast was amazing every morning for the duration of our stay. No concern with late check-in. We had no issues checking-in after 10:00pm. Only thing was the size of the room was small. We booked for 2 persons, but the room was for 1 person. We were provided with 1 pair of slippers, 1 towel. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay, security guards were also kind and very professional.

This hotel doesn’t accept Mastercards. Especially if they are US MASTERCARDS. They made me feel terrible because my card couldn’t be processed and held off my passport until I was able to sort this out with another card the following day. I’ve tried to meet the manager with no success. I will never go back to this place and I won’t recommend it to anyone.

The cleaning staff are great, the kitchen/breakfast staff, and the men at the front desk. There is one lady who apparently is the top dog who is a rude. There is nothing worse than when the top management act better than the guests. The beds/mattresses have not been changed since they opened. The bedding etc all the exact same as 2018. The price keeps going up but wear and tear and quality of actual rooms is degrading. I literally slept in the cave in the mattress made by the 1000s of bodies that slept there before. For $150/night this is inexcusable.

One of the better Hotels in Kinshasa Good value
Value/Price for Kinshasa was good. Room very good. Comfortable bed and excellent service. Breakfast decent. Felt very safe here. Would recommend. Would stay again.

Very clean, bed comfortable, room well-equipped (kettle, free water, fridge). AC works well, has a "quiet" setting which really is. Room service good, menu a bit limited but food fresh and tasty. Not cheap! Breakfast assortment good, omelettes really good! Staff are very friendly, quick to respond. Would suggest they add some "light bites" to menu, including service in lounge bar. Enjoyed the stay very much.

This hotel is great. The rooms are very nice and clean plenty of hot water and the bathroom are nice. The bed is just right and the staff is wonderful. When it was raining the staff meet us at the car with umbrella to keep us dry.

Great place in Kinshasa!
Hotel Selton is new and clean and friendly! The staff was very helpful and let us use the restaurant tables in off-hours to have meetings with individuals who didn't have offices. We will definitely stay here in the future.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We stayed 7 nights. The location is close to the main road. The bed was soft, excellent water pressure in the shower. Great breakfast every morning with pleasant staff. They provided free bottled water in our room each day. The only downside was the wifi, it was there but very slow.

It was nice stay at Hotel Selton
It was nice stay at this hotel, I've visited 3 times to Kinshasa and stayed different hotel each time, but this hotel is much better than previous. Because of circumstances of Kinshasa, it is very difficult to find the nice and clean business hotel within the budget, but fortunately, I could find this hotel through hotels.com. Room is tiny but very clean and new with balcony, and bed is very comfortable, amenity is good as well. Only we had problem of payment, credit card machine is not working when I checked out. It was caused by network problem (I think it may be common happening in Kinshasa), so eventually I went to ATM to withdraw the cash then paid. So I have learnt that it is better to pay 1 day before check out by credit card then can pay other things (e.g. restaurant bills for last day of stay) by cash if the credit card is not working when check out. Or it is better to pay Hotels.com when book the hotel rather than choose pay at hotel option. Except of credit card problem, everything was nice and I would stay this hotel next trip to Kinshasa.
