We liked the convenience of getting our bags unloaded and loaded.
Had a pleasant night’s stay in this quaint motel. It was a nice change of pace from the usual chains. The front desk lady was friendly, and helpful. The room was clean and spacious enough, although it was a bit cramped in the bathroom. Beds were comfortable and it was nice to be able to open the windows for fresh air. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
It's a nice trip back in time to the 1970's to go to this motel. The staff was very nice, and so were my neighbors. The power went out, and I didn't have heat, but they were able to get everything fixed once I got the information to the front desk.
Pros:
- Distance to Astabula and D Day event
- The bathroom had a tub and was old but clean
Cons:
- The room stunk like smoke and/or mold; everything i wore and brought home smelled like smoke/decay.
- The AC is a window unit that only turns on by plugging in-certainly past its shelf life and looks like its been dropped from a high rise.
- Faded outlets, outdated everything, no way this place can pass code.
- Bates motel would look like Trump Towers compared to this place.
Everything in the room was old and the window was cracked. The cigarette smell was so bad that you could barely breathe.
The check in slip said the room was $86; hotels .com charged $113.
Air conditioner was either on by plugging it in or off by unplugging it because all the buttons to control it were broken. Front desk said sorry there is nothing she can do.
It is ancient but very well maintained. All the furniture and fixtures looks like it is from the 1950s or 1970s - the building looks to be built of concrete or blocks with a brick exterior. Only about 20 rooms. Room is large and has a tiled bathroom with a toilet that looks like it would swallow the Titanic. Everytthing works and the bed is the best one of the three recent - firm, etc. It does have Wi-Fi and cable TV, the usual microwave and mini-Fridge. Even the parking spaces are set up for the big cars of a bygone era. Except for the wi-fi, it ts a time capsule. If I have opportunity, I would stay again.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Property is what you'd expect for a highway motel. Very clean and quiet.
Dav-Ed is an excellent but modest motel! Very clean. Comfortable beds. Pleasant staff. When we checked out we forgot a very important item -- a phone-- and the staff very kindly contacted us and we were able retrieve our forgotten item. I would definitely stay here again
My sister and I felt we had stepped back into the 60's. Everything was retro and very clean. Only thing was that adjoining rooms got up in the wee hours of the morning, waking us up.
Everything was super clean and well maintained. Everyone was super sweet and kind. I enjoyed my stay and recommend Dav-ed Motel to anyone! Thank y'all!
