We loved everything about Kloofzicht, friendly staff, amazing location, and the highlight of the trip was the food, the chef went out of his way to make us a special vegetarian menu and it was amazing.
Thank you, will definitely recommend Kloofzicht to anyone looking for 5 star treatment.

Great but not 5 star.
The stay was good, but I would not classify it as a 5 star hotel, not by a long short.
The furniture is old and has scuffings or chips . The mini bar was not stocked, not even with coke or water. No snacks, nothing. Had to drive out the following day to grocery shop.
The staff service was great and I also enjoyed the spa. The scenery is also excellent.

Great place, beautiful views, spacious rooms.
Room itself was clean but there were cigarette buts everywhere on the property, including on our veranda, it didnt feel very tidy or clean. Swimming pool was very dirty, unclear if it was out of order because of COVID but then there should have been a sign. When we asked if the kids could swim, the staff was not even sure.
For the price of the room, would have been nice if there would have been more than 1 rusk at the coffee station.
Room catered for 2 people (we were 3). Phoned to get extra robe. Next day-towels for only 2. No swimming pool towels-had to use room towels (for 2!!) Soaking wet towels. Door latch broken, Housekeeping just don't respond/get back to you. Drinks order took over 90minutes to deliver.Staff very short/over-loaded and not coping. Housekeeping only got to our unit at 16h00 at which we told them to not worry about cleaning.
It is so peaceful and tranquil. We were there for a wedding and we absolutely loved it! Gardens are so clean and beautiful. Recommended for a quiet / romantic getaway.
What I thoroughly enjoy about staying @ Kloofzicht Lodge is the privacy that it offers. You will probably only see other people at Dinner - which is perfect!! The food is 100% amazing, their Chef is Top Notch!! If I could, I would lick the plates, it is that scrumptious!!

Beautiful but negligent
The location and the resort is stunning.
Sadly they are negligent with Corvid Protocols. Guests are not screened when they are checking in. No sanitizers (none in the rooms and dining tables). The rooms do not have seals to confirm if the rooms have been sanitized. Outside guests come in for breakfasts and use the same buffet area as the hotel guests. It could be a corvid spreader.
Rooms need to be upgraded. Better lighting is needed. Cannot read at night. Wifi is very poor.
Whilst I understand we’re in lockdown with certain restrictions, I was truly disappointed.
1) They offer room service however all meals were served in polystyrene takeaway containers and cold. For a 5-star establishment I would have at least expected them to have left a plate per person (as experienced in another hotel), even to wash the plates ourselves. No cutlery was delivered on the first night until requested, and also no salt & pepper.
2) Showering was extremely unpleasant in that hardly any water came out of the shower head leaving only the option to bath. I’m not sure if there was something faulty with the shower head or if this was a water saving action taken, but water pressure was fine in the bath and sink.
3) The glass sliding door is jammed and extremely difficult to open. My son had to force the door open every day which made an extremely loud screeching sound, surely disturbing the guests around us. This is supposed to be an emergency exit, as per the safety information provided, however it’s extremely difficult for a woman to open.
We did however have a very pleasant treatment at the Spa, which together with the beautiful scenery, were the only parts we truly enjoyed. I could say that the food issue is related to lockdown (unusual circumstances) however the lack of proper maintenance relating to the shower and sliding door isn’t so.
The people staying in accommodation are treated poorly and basically ignored as they cater towards "functions". Music is played which can be heard throughout the estate. Managers are rude, unhelpful, disrespectful and actually have no idea how to manage accommodation(Selena has absolutely no clue on customer service, and came with lies and excuses). Music is turned off whenever they feel like. Both nights the music was turned an hour after they said it would be. Every manager had a different story and supposedly it takes a long time to turn off/down music. The venue is beautiful but it is not for a weekend away as they don't care about your accommodation fee, functions pay much more. Such a waste of such a beautiful and prestine location.

Spectacular Nature in down to earth accomodation
The scenery is stunning, we arrived late at night and the security ignored us and never greeted. Reception staff was friendly and very helpful.
We booked a family suite which was roomy but badly lit even during the day, the room requires an upgrade(bit outdated). Bathroom blinds were dusty, carpets in room also looked a bit dirty but otherwise it was nice and quiet and we were awaken by nature which is great.
I was disappointed at Breakfast as I specified with my booking that Im allergic to gluten, wheat and dairy and no preparation was done and no one at the restaurant was aware or prepared for it. Luckily I travelled with my own Rice Milk but they had to look for crackers for me.
Staff is very friendly but they need to just work on the above.
The setting is fabulous and only a short 30 minute drive from Joburg. The breakfast buffet is good. The bistro has the best views, but the food is average and over priced. R125 for an awful children’s margarita pizza! There is no room service, which is surprising considering it is a 5* resort. Other than that the resort is great and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The rooms were spacious and the staff incredibly friendly -The staff at reception were happy to accommodate requests e.g late check out
The venue is very peaceful and the buffet options should satisfy most tastes -good getaway from City Stresses or breakaway for the family
Only drawback is that the WIFI was non existent although free wifi is advertised -rather just take a break from tech and read a book/reconnect with family
The view from the room is amazing. This gem just outside Joburg which allows you to feel like you are in the bush but have the conveniences of civilisation quite close by. Room was great with a gas fireplace. The room could be improved by better lighting but all in all good stay.

Never coming back
I am so glad I came here on my own before bringing our entire team. Check in was a bit of a mess up, got to my room to only find that i’d been moved to a different room. A 4* establishment that DOES not offer room service. Dinner was ok but the dessert was terrible and returned it even though I had paid for it. I didn’t even bother trying breakfast. There’s camping chairs on the veranda and plastic couch in the room??? What a disappointment!!!!
We had a sleepless night with a bat in our room. Dinner and Breakfast was superb thanks to be Chef

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
For a solo person there is no area to have a quiet drink. You cater for congresses. Please have some sitting and seating area outside in your beautiful space in front of the dining room. Food was excellent. Again to have music that is so load! Ambiance lacks. My room was in a bad state. Curtainrings broken and furniture in a bad condition. You need to look at not overusing only one room which I am sure was mine. My room was only serviced 3.30 the following day. For the price I was looking for something better. The Spa was a good experience. Sad that pool was out of order. The showerhead at spa needs looking at. Overall a bad experience at the hotel within such a terrific space. You have it all just up your game.
Beautiful location, large room with elegant furnishings, friendly service. Relaxing on the balcony while game strolled past was a heavenly experience. Breakfast was delicious. All in all, a simply faultless stay!
